King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
John: Your grace.
Tanda: Your Majesty
King Blackthorn: *nods hello to everyone*
Aornis: Hail.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles Good evening Your Majesty.*
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: Contact my secretaries (Elizabella@uoem.net and Malachi@uoem.net.)
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for assistance with an event,
Target the book you wish to copy.
Select a book to copy this to.
You make a copy of the book.
King Blackthorn: it should be sent to the Lady Wraith (wraithbroadsword@gmail.com).
King Blackthorn: She has a charming cottage with a mailbox in northwest Britain.
King Blackthorn: A primer on the procedures of this council has been written.
King Blackthorn: (You can find it on greatlakes.uoem.net, click on the Royal Council link on the righthand side).
King Blackthorn: It will be updated soon with the new information.
King Blackthorn: I see that several governors were unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Britain this meeting. Governor Warner, you have the floor.
Dot Warner: Thank you Your Majesty...
Dot Warner: Britain continues to fare well through the winter, and playing host to the magical cupid statue at the Artistic Arms has brought a fair amount of tourists.
Dot Warner: Personal issues have unfortunately kept me from being able to schedule the Trans-Britannia Derby and the Tournament of Valor for the same months as last year.
Dot Warner: However, I have scheduled them both for next month... *eyes cross slightly*
Dot Warner: The Trans-Britannia Derby is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at 2pm CST.
Dot Warner: Registration is currently open and it is required to participate.
Dot Warner: The Tournament of Valor, the first tournament of this year's King's Cup series, is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 28th at 1pm CST.
Dot Warner: Registration will open the first week of March and it is also required to participate.
Dot Warner: Please see the Tribune (gl.uorpc.net) for the full details and registration information.
Dot Warner: I yield the floor to Governor Aornis.
Aornis: Thank you, Governor Warner.
Aornis: All is well in Vesper at the moment. I held our first town meeting a few weeks back.
Aornis: It went very well and I was able to touch base with some of my citizens
Aornis: I also handed out some Vesper's Best Brandy.
Aornis: I have some with me tonight if anyone would like a bottle.
Aornis: Other than that, not much is happening in Vesper. Something the citizens are quite happy of as
Aornis: we are due for a rest from villains and scoundrels.
Aornis: I yield the floor to Governor Willa.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Governor Aornis.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: The City of Yew fairs well.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We of course had Brialla's walk...
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Which sadly I was unable to attend
Willa of the Yew-Wood: But I hear rumors that along the way there was some explosives laid by some very naughty dark elves or something.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Rumors of them being associated with the slavers who kidnapped our dear Ariel... brought back bad memories.
DaKaren: *frowns*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are still very grateful for the guards given.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: As we know the roads can be troublesome at times.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Other than that things are very well in Yew.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I hear rumors that perhaps we might be getting a Dock in our fair city...
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I can say I'm VERY much looking forward to that prospect and if there is Anything we might need to do before that happens certainly we would.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you I yield to Jamison
Thom Jameison: Thank you Governor, your Grace
Thom Jameison: Things are going well in Jhelom rather quite.
Thom Jameison: Trade is prospering and the citizens seem happy.
Thom Jameison: That is all I have to hare at this time. I yield to the lovely Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: Thank you Governor Jameison, Your Majesty
Tanda: Minoc was a happy sight at the conclusion of Brialla's walk
Tanda: it was a rather gruesome journey this year and dangerous
Tanda: most of those event were met with great courage along the way
Tanda: and rewarded with free pints of ale in Minoc
Tanda: We too stand prepared to assist in the building of the Docks in Minoc or Yew for that matter
Tanda: did take note of the fact Bordermarch seems on the mend
Tanda: will offer whatever aid we can there also
Tanda: This weekend there are a group of troubadours coming to our land
Tanda: to host a contest
Tanda: of logic versus greed
Tanda: on Saturday at 6 p.m. central skies
Tanda: Minoc is also looking into an old parable
Tanda: I had heard as a child about Julia and a Clock
Tanda: I've been bring Shenstone coffee
Tanda: trying to talk to him about old tinkers
Tanda: of note
Tanda: Trade is still going well
Tanda: so Minoc is doing quite well
Tanda: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, has sent a message.
King Blackthorn: *reads from the scroll*
King Blackthorn: Britannian Security Forces are on the trail of a new threat, the Crooked Key Guild.
King Blackthorn: The group seems a dangerous incarnation of the Buccaneer's Den Guild of Thieves.
King Blackthorn: The group has been recruiting from other criminal groups in the last few months,
King Blackthorn: And even had a mole in our own Royal Navy who has since been arrested.
King Blackthorn: The group is lead by a guild master named Samhayne, a powerful resident of the Den.
King Blackthorn: His daughter Raven is his first lieutenant. She has a reputation as a smuggler and pirate.
King Blackthorn: While there was an attempt to blockade the Den and neutralize the group,
King Blackthorn: Samhayne and Raven both escaped and are now working with members of the Guild in other places.
King Blackthorn: Samhayne recently recovered a dangerous artifact, the Moonstone of Covetous.
King Blackthorn: We are not entirely sure what his plans for the artifact are.
King Blackthorn: Raven is currently aboard a ship and plans to harass the Royal Navy to keep us busy.
King Blackthorn: The Royal Navy and Royal Guard are on high alert,
King Blackthorn: And other Britannian Security Forces are looking for the Moonstone.
King Blackthorn: We are focused on this matter until all of the Crooked Key are arrested or dead.
King Blackthorn: There is currently no other new security matter of note.
King Blackthorn: *rolls the scroll back up*
King Blackthorn: My thanks to Minister Grey.
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Jameison, I am glad all is peaceful and prosperous in Jhelom.
Thom Jameison: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: The citizens of the City of Valor could certainly use the respite.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, the Barnacle is always a welcome sight at the end of any journey.
Tanda: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: How thoughtful of you and your citizens to provide ale to the travelers.
King Blackthorn: Thank you for your offer of assistance with Bordermarch.
King Blackthorn: I shall pass your message along to Sir Sentri.
Tanda: I appreciate that
King Blackthorn: The troubadours' contest sound very exciting.
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I am pleased to hear that my capital city continues well.
King Blackthorn: The cupid is indeed delightful.
King Blackthorn: I wish you the best of luck with your plans for a busy March.
Dot Warner: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, I am glad your town meeting went well,
King Blackthorn: and that all is peaceful in the city of Vesper.
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, I too was surprised to hear that Brialla's Journey was not
King Blackthorn: the peaceful time for contemplation it is intended as.
King Blackthorn: I am glad the guards from the Library of Scars were able to help safeguard the journeyers.
King Blackthorn: I shall address the docks news later, but should mention now that nothing will be
King Blackthorn: required from the governors to complete that request.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles*
Tanda: *nods*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I can hardly wait.
King Blackthorn: *looks at agenda*
King Blackthorn: Actually, we turn to that issue now.
King Blackthorn: *smiles* It arrived sooner than I expected.
King Blackthorn: *looks at notes*
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
King Blackthorn: Many months ago, the governors of Minoc and Yew requested that docks be built,
King Blackthorn: to increase commerce and improve transportation to and from their towns.
King Blackthorn: I am pleased to announce that this request has been granted.
King Blackthorn: *looks pleased*
Tanda: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: The finest carpenters from Minoc, working with the best carpenters in Yew,
King Blackthorn: Shall be hired to build magnificent docks in both those towns.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I am so happy. The Monks are excited about the possibilities of increased commerce.
King Blackthorn: I look forward to their completion too. I have a feeling they will be wonderful.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
King Blackthorn: Now citizens may present new issues.
King Blackthorn: Ah, it seems all really is peaceful.
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Um...
King Blackthorn: Yes, Governor Willa?
You see: decorative carpet
Willa of the Yew-Wood: My issues probably need to be addressed with the builders.
Now following.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I shall ask the Gods.
King Blackthorn: That sounds likely.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *nods*
Tanda: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: Please go ahead, Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: I was not privy first hand to the events in Covetous
Tanda: I got a summary from my husband John
Tanda: and from Sir Grey's report
Tanda: Covetous is dangerously close to Minoc
Tanda: I would like stay in touch
Tanda: regarding the safety of Minoc
Tanda: Oh and My citizen have a gift we hope you will accept
Tanda: that we'll send through the mail
Tanda: That is all
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, Minister Grey will keep us all apprised of the situation.
King Blackthorn: I understand your concern.
Tanda: Thank you your Grace
King Blackthorn: Thank you for the gift. My secretary's mailbox has moved.
Tanda: oh?
King Blackthorn: It is now at the Award Hall & Museum in Malas.
Tanda: Thank you
King Blackthorn: My old mailbox location is now Lady Wraith's cottage.
Tanda: I wondered about that
King Blackthorn: Various aspects of the move still remain to be tidied up.
Tanda: *giggles*
Tanda: moving is never easy
King Blackthorn: It will bring more visitors to the Museum though, so that's good.
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight.
