King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.

King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: I ask that he or she send me a pigeon at [elizabella@uoem.net] or [malachi@uoem.net].
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for your town,
King Blackthorn: Send a petition by pigeon to both [elizabella@uoem.net] and [malachi@uoem.net]
King Blackthorn: at least three days before a Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: Then be prepared to discuss your request and answer questions about it at the Council meeting.

King Blackthorn: I see that some governors were unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Would anyone like to speak for those towns?

King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
Neptune: no doubt in boycott of Skara
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
Dot Warner: *rolls her eyes*
King Blackthorn: We will start from Yew this meeting. Governor Willa, you have the floor.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Your Majesty.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Yew is still very concerned for the safety of our citizens.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Many rumors about that the slavers are growing.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: And rebuilding since the last encounter and we are very nervous so we are still at a state of hightened alert.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: All shipments to and from Yew are still being searched.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: And our troops grow weary but are ever watchful.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are also looking forward to celebrating the 500th with the other Governors.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Though somewhat concerned for the safety of the Gathering.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: That is all I have Neptune?

Dot Warner: Britain fares well, there have been no reported disturbances or unrest.
Dot Warner: The capital stands ready to assist any of her sister cities in need.
Dot Warner: Preparations for the 500th Anniversary Celebration are proceeding apace, with eight cities scheduled to participate.
Dot Warner: The celebration will be held next Wednesday at 8pm (CDT) in Skara Brae's Jollier Fairgrounds.
Dot Warner: Please look for the official announcement to be published this weekend.

Tanda: Minoc is monitoring the new tower near my residence
Tanda: I must say it give me a bit of pause knowing what it could mean
Tanda: so far all seems quiet
Tanda: within our own sector of the cities
Tanda: tensions are rising and increasingly my intuition
Tanda: tells me the troubles between Skara Brae and Jhelom
Tanda: and increasingly Moonglow now
Tanda: are much like those with this white rose
Tanda: another entity manipulating
Tanda: the powers that be
Tanda: Minoc will be hosting Minocian Darts
Tanda: at the 500th Anniversary celebrations
Dot Warner: *smiles*
Tanda: and the auction is scheduled for May 2nd 8 p.m. cdt
Tanda: which is a Friday on the first floor of Majestic Oaks Auction house

King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, has sent a message.
King Blackthorn: I shall read it now.
King Blackthorn: Beyond maintaining security within Britannia, we are currently dealing with a problem in Ilshenar.
King Blackthorn: The Meer and Juka are on the verge of open war because of the death of two of their leaders.
King Blackthorn: These leaders, one from both the Meer and one from the Juka, had been meeting to forge a peace
King Blackthorn: We believe these murders are related to a couple of previous deaths.
King Blackthorn: The first was the murder of a Ver Lor Reg gargoyle, which led to tensions there.
King Blackthorn: The second was the death of Bertrand, which lead to the recent raids by the Hythloth demons.
King Blackthorn: All three crime scenes have been marked by a white rose.
King Blackthorn: We are currently investigating and seeking the person or persons responsible.
King Blackthorn: In all situations, the initial crime exploded into a larger situation.
King Blackthorn: These situations all undermined either our allies or our own security.
King Blackthorn: *closes message scroll*
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, I am glad to hear that all is well in Minoc.
King Blackthorn: The darts tournament sounds exciting!
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I am pleased to hear that my capital city continues well.
Neptune: *fold's arm's*
King Blackthorn: I wish you luck with the preparations for the upcoming celebration.
King Blackthorn: Governor Neptune, I wish Skara's farmers well with the planting,
King Blackthorn: and hope that their harvests are bountiful.
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, I am glad Yew is holding strong against difficulties and is rebuilding.
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
King Blackthorn: A governor may only place one request per term.
King Blackthorn: I urge governors to consider their requests carefully.
King Blackthorn: We have three requests to discuss this evening, from Britain, Minoc, and Yew.
King Blackthorn: Copies of these requests are at either end of the table.
King Blackthorn: After this meeting, copies of my responses will be added.
King Blackthorn: Britain has requested that food and drink be secured to the bar of the Jollier Fairground,
King Blackthorn: For the 500th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday (April 30th at 8 p.m. CDT).
King Blackthorn: I shall grant this request.
King Blackthorn: Four items of food or drink will be nailed down on the evening of the celebration.
King Blackthorn: Leftovers will be removed the next day and donated to the poor of Paws.
King Blackthorn: A stack of food (e.g. one-hundred trays of cookies) counts as one item.
King Blackthorn: Please leave the food or drink in my mailbox at least twenty-four hours before the celebration.
King Blackthorn: *looks at notes*
King Blackthorn: Yew has requested armed guards for two guard towers on its borders.
King Blackthorn: This request too I shall grant.
King Blackthorn: I have spoken to the Library of Scars.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Your Majesty.
King Blackthorn: *nods*
King Blackthorn: They are willing to provide two fighters for long-term assignment to the towers you mention.
Neptune: *whispers* talk about fox's in the hen house
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Yew is most grateful.
King Blackthorn: As payment, they request 100 frostwood boards, 200 Heartwood boards, and 300 Bloodwood boards
King Blackthorn: I would like the town of Yew to hold an event, open to all lumberjacks, to gather these boards.
King Blackthorn: Once that is done, please deliver the boards to my mailbox, along with the coordinates
King Blackthorn: of the towers
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Very well your Majesty we shall obtain them. I shall call upon the timbermen of Yew to fulfill this request.
King Blackthorn: *smiles* That is good.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Finally, we come to Minoc's request.
Neptune: and I will ask for some rangers to keep an eye on the Jhelom guard's for you
Tanda: *looks to the King*
King Blackthorn: The governor of the City of Sacrifice has nobly used her request to try to benefit others.
King Blackthorn: She asks that I order the governors of Skara Brae and Jhelom to meet for a peace summit.
Neptune: *look's over*
King Blackthorn: *smiles at Governor Knighthawke* I have thought carefully about your words.
King Blackthorn: Alas, I find that I cannot in good conscience completely grant your request.
King Blackthorn: I cannot order two opposing sides to wish for peace; even a king cannot command others' hearts.
King Blackthorn: A representative should come willingly to the summit table,
King Blackthorn: with the hope for an end to strife born and nurtured from their own experiences.
Dot Warner: *raises a brow*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *looks at Neptune.*
Neptune: well I have told you before Tanda
Neptune: get our ally the Sultan to host and i will be there
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Well had Skara sent us some good rangers I wouldn't have to petition the King for aid.
King Blackthorn: Please wait for new issues to make comments. I currently have the floor.
King Blackthorn: I shall not order the governors of Skara Brae and Jhelom to negotiate with each other.
King Blackthorn: However, good lady, there shall be a peace summit next month
King Blackthorn: with both governors invited to attend.
Tanda: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Let us hope that they both, perhaps inspired by your sacrifice,
King Blackthorn: find it in their hearts to make this important first step towards a lasting peace.
King Blackthorn: *smiles*

Malag aste: I am here to formally inform you that Magnus Gray has been nominated by the High Council for an award.
King Blackthorn: Well deserved!
Malag aste: He has been nominated to receive the Gauntlet of Dupre.
Malag aste: Given to combatants and non-combatants alike who have served the realm outstandingly during times of war. The order's badge is a gauntlet sustaining a sword over a blue background.
Malag aste: We request his presence at the awards Ceremony on Monday the 28th day of April.
King Blackthorn: Thank you for informing me of this.
Malag aste: I certainly do hope he can attend.
King Blackthorn: I am pleased to hear that his contributions shall be rewarded.
King Blackthorn: I do not know if he will be able to attend.
Malag aste: He has certainly more than met the qualifications.
King Blackthorn: Perhaps you would be interested in formally awarding this to him at
King Blackthorn: next month's Royal Council meeting?
Malag aste: If he does not make the ceremony I shall.
King Blackthorn: *smiles and nods*
Malag aste: Hoping he will be able to attend that .... and that I am able.
