Calendar, week of January 24 through January 30

Post by John Knighthawke » Sun Jan 24, 2016 8:17 am

This calendar is on the Great Lakes Stratics board and on the UORPC boards. It will cover the period from January 24 through January 30, Sunday to Saturday (while an eight-day calendar seems to work best, I did not come through with it this week, for the third week in a row, I apologize for that, again!, so this week is a seven-day calendar, and I hope to return to the eight day calendar next week). [I note that on Stratics this post will be stickied, and updated with current dates and information on most weeks! Watch for a change in the date of the subject line to know when the post has been altered.]

I first note that I missed an event for last night (Saturday, January 23), specifically the latest of the City of Moonglow's periodically held archery contests. Apologies to Governor Kittie of Moonglow. [This is, or rather in this case was, a player event.]

On Monday, January 25, at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern, the High Council of Britannia meets in the usual structure in Compassion Grove. [This is a player event.]

Also on Monday January 25, at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern, for those more commercially than politically minded, the weekly Alliance Auction continues. Their auction house is in Tokuno, they usually offer gates from the Luna Bank. [This is a player event.]

On Tuesday January 26, there will be a mission of the Britannian Royal Guard, beginning from the Warriors' Guild Hall in West Britain (across the bridge from the West Britain Bank), at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern. It seems likely the Guard will be seeking to clean up the last remnants of disrupted peace talks between Heartwood and Sanctuary [This is an EM event.]

On Thursday January 28, the long-standing Majestic Oaks Auction will be held, at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern. Their auction house is just west of Vesper, near the landgate to Buccaneer's Den. They offer gates from the Luna Bank. [This is a player event.]

Saturday, January 30, is turning out to be an active day.

At 4pm Central/5pm Eastern, the annual horse (or other mount) race, sponsored and hosted by all the King's City Governors and the High Council of Britannia, will be held, starting on the Skara Brae docks (mainland side). The details are here: http://gl.uorpc.net/transbritanniaderby.html . Note that riders must register 30 minutes prior to the event. Also note that the top prize is 10 million gold! [This is a player event.]

Also that night, at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern, the weekly Underground Auction's silent auction begins. The goods available for bid, instructions for bidding, and other particulars of their system, can be found at their auction house, in Malas, right outside of Luna's South Gate. They usually offer gates at the time of initial bid opening, and the bidding runs through the following Wednesday. [This is a player event.]

Finally, that same night, also at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern, will be the annual reenactment of the the walk of Brialla of the Seven Tears from Yew to Minoc. Usually this reenactment starts in the area between the Yew Winery and the Empath Abbey, in the City of Yew. In previous years the walk has been subject to attacks of various sorts. Look for details to be posted on the Crown's calendar sometime this week. [This is an EM event.]
