Calendar, November 21 through November 28

Post by John Knighthawke » Sat Nov 21, 2015 8:24 pm

This calendar is on the Great Lakes Stratics board and on the UORPC boards. It will cover the period from November 21 through November 28, Saturday to Saturday (an eight-day calendar seems to work best). [I note that on Stratics this post will be stickied, and updated with current dates and information on most weeks! Watch for a change in the date of the subject line to know when the post has been altered.]

Note that there neither is a Majestic Oaks Auction this week, nor an Underground Auction House silent auction. I am not certain about the Alliance Auction, but if there is one, note that it usually is held on Mondays (so this week, November 23), at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern. Their auction house is in Tokuno – they typically offer gates from the Luna Bank. [This is a player event.]

Monday November 23, at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern, Governor Dot Warner of Britain will host the third annual Britain Harvest Banquet. The details are here:

Tuesday, November 24, at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern, the City of Vesper continues the long-standing “Walrus Festival.” Though more-typically associated with Winter than Autumn, this is a rare year when the festival falls in November instead of December. Usually gates to the specific start point are available at the Counselors' Guild Hall in West Britain. In recent years, the festival has been subject to attacks of one kind or another, so it may be best to come prepared. [This is an EM event.]

Thursday November 26 is the harvest festival. As traditionally families, not large groups, celebrate this festival, no events are planned.

Sometime in the very late evening hours of Friday November 27 or early morning hours of Saturday November 28, elections to the office of Governors of the Cities begin. [This is a game-wide event.]

Saturday November 28 promises to be a very busy night indeed.

Firstly, Saturday November 28 is game night, presented by the troubadours of UO Radio and hosted by Majestic Oaks Auction and the City of Minoc. There will be two games, both held at the UO Radio/Majestic Oaks Auction game house, which is far south of Luna, on the other side of the great bridge of the Sea of Stars, on the west side of the road. It's typical that gates are offered form Luna, at least until the games start. The first game is Deal or No deal, at 6pm Central/7pm Eastern. The second game is The Price is Right, at 9pm Central/10pm Eastern.

Secondly, Saturday November 28, At 7pm Central/8 Eastern, the Underground Auction's silent auctions resume. The goods available for bid, instructions for bidding, and other particulars of their system, can be found at their auction house, in Malas, right outside of Luna's South Gate. They usually offer gates at the time of initial bid opening. [This is a player event.]

Thirdly, on Saturday November 28 an event of an uncertain nature is on the Crown's Calendar for 8pm Central/9pm Eastern.

Fourthly and finally, as noted above, by that date the Governor elections should be underway. I am not in the slightest above using this forum to point out that my wife, Governor Tanda of Minoc, has performed exemplarily in that role.
