Galen

Post by Galen » Thu Dec 10, 2009 6:49 pm

Name:Galen (sometimes known as Galen Knighthawke)

Age: Appears to be no younger than 50 (or equivalent if you use UO time)

Height: Around six feet even

Weight: Not known; his frame is lean with wiry musculature

Race: Human

Description: Dark gray hair, with a white streak in front. Often wears a dark gray, hooded elven robe, with the hood pulled down low, almost over his eyes. He wears his robe this way even in combat. Dark glasses stare out at you from underneath the hood. His dark eyes are intense and defiant. Despite his obviously being decently-muscled, he somehow rarely, if ever, seems healthy. In fact he often seems gaunt. Rarely does he have a weapon belt showing, but he produces his weapons easily when violence arises.
_______________________________________

A stranger in a new land, a still-recent arrival from a different, but very similar place. Because he is still comparatively new to these lands, little is known about him. He has already made friends and enemies.

He is not the best fighter, but sometimes has a way of coming out on top when he shouldn't be able to. Perhaps it's that quality that has endeared him to people who are much better fighters than he.

He has a wife at home of whom he often speaks, but is rarely seen save by his guild, who know her as a calm, friendly, and flirty hostess and friend. Though he clearly loves his wife dearly, his eye, at least does tend to rove.

Since the profile was written a few things have changed which may be public knowledge.

Galen is now known to keep a mistress, who is occasionally seen with him in public, though he still appears to be happily married. The contrast has caused an understandable puzzlement in some and Galen deliberately avoids explaining things. He has changed fighting styles, focusing on speed and finesse over force. His guild now operates out of a large home in Malas. The guild has grown slightly larger over time but very much retains its secretive, close-knit, family-like nature. They are semi-regular contributors to the Faction Wars in Felucca, and frequent contributors to the war against Evil in Trammel, particularly as volunteer agents of Minister of Security Magnus Gray.

Galen continues to make both enemies and friends. Which list is larger is open to interpretation.

Galen is known to have led a series of Crusades against Virtuebane and the Bane Chosen in Magincia, and to have been appointed as Interim Grand Marshal of Virtue by the High Council. He openly wears the badge of his new rank, but has positioned it such that it's hard to see unless one looks closely.

Galen is now known to have dropped the pretense to being the "Interim" Grand Marshal, and thrown himself into the Grand Marshal role.

Some may also have heard, through tavern scuttlebutt and the like, to be the father of John, the Squire of Newcastle, a fact of which neither were aware until very recently.

Galen's long-time fighting partner, Thanatos Angelos, however, appears to have departed from the realm.

Some might say he's resumed his old vices, alcohol drinking and nightshade smoking.

But perhaps that's just a rumor.....

When you see Galen now you will likely notice the patch over his right eye. Or, at least, where that eye once was....

Galen has recently spoken at Lord Blackthorn's coronation, the second time he has spoken at a coronation in the course of his long career.
