Hail all, I am Ludwig. And this is the tale of how I became that that I am today:
No, I did not have a catastrophic beginning. I led the life that any small boy would dream of. My father, Ludwig, was a traveling merchant. My Mother, Sue, a high-spirited gypsy woman. They loved me very much, and I loved them both.
Our travelling life made for some great experiences. As my father travelled from one city to the next, buying and selling wares, we met many different people from all points of Britannia. Often too, whilst travelling, my father would take me out to the woods to practice archery. And as my father did his job, haggling in the streets of the large cities, my mother would show me the wonders of healing and magic.
But sometimes, having a child along on all those trips was a bit much for the two of them. Understandably, as I was a curious bugger and loved to talk (luckily I have grown out of that ). So, when I came of age for schooling, my parents sent me away to boarding school at Empathy Abbey. It was there that I really came to know the Virtues.
Sure, my mother had pointed out the various Shrines during our many treks through the land. But the Monks at the Abbey had a knack for drilling the Virtues into a little boy's head! Ah, I did my best to be a good boy and do my father proud. But it seemed I had a difficulty learning in their structured and orderly way of life. I was too used to being on the go. I was oft reprimanded for speaking out of turn in my lessons, for suggesting different ideas (I have heard many in my life on the road!), for over exuberance when one should be quiet and thoughtful in meditation.
My first few years at the Abbey were rough, but I soon settled. I learned to keep my attention in my lessons, and think freely when out in the yard. I spent much time in my youth wandering the forests and feeling at ease in nature...
