Majestic Memories 2003 to 2004

Post by Melian » Fri Feb 21, 2014 3:04 pm

Here you will find snippets of the past from 2003 to 2004 certainly not all that has happened by any means.. Images have been removed, some editing done to save time and space. May the memories live on and we see from whence we came.

Majestic Oaks Haunts You Weekly
Posted October 28, 2003

In preparation for the upcoming night of restlessness better known as All Hallows Eve, your friendly ghouls and ghosts (no not Casper) at Majestic Oaks decorate the auction room and get ready for the show. Ichabod Crane himself could not bring you a finer event in the outside chance he should find his lost head and retire that poor horse.
This week we will have a ton of red hot items: Shadow Lamp Post, Colored Anvils, Sandals and Nets, Titans Hammer, Cocoons, Mini Tower Deed, Coal Ingots, Power Scrolls Galore, Runic Hammers and Kits, Ethereals, Awesome Bods (and I don't mean the staffs), Sweet Weapons, A Server Birth Pot and much more. Besides all these items and more please note MOA gives out a Mil Gold a week in prizes and or random give aways to make your night more enticing and spend all the gold before the girls go shopping.

Hauntings on Spooky Island - An MOA / THB Event
Posted October 29, 2003

Clouds shadowed the sky and wind howled among the trees in the darkening forest as the ancient sorcerer hobbled off the boat. Leaning on his staff for support, he looked around at the tangled undergrowth with distaste before turning to his companions.
"Are you certain this is the best place?" he demanded. "It must be absolutely secure! Even with my power and talents it may be years before I can return."
The two young pirates glanced at each other before answering. "Aye m'lord, indeed. Jes' look around ye. This 'ere place is crawling with 'gators an' serpents, an' uvver nasty critters. Ain't no one comes 'ere, there be naught to come for. Your treasures will be safe 'ere." answered the first. "From all but us." the second sniggered under his breath.
The old sorcerer looked around again, grumbling and nodding. "Get to it then!" he snapped. "And split it up! There is too much to risk all in one place. I want four -- no, five piles made -- and buried in separate locations!"
And so began the laborious process of digging and hauling trunkloads of gems, gold and magical items from the boat and burying them deep in the ground. Sweat poured from the brows of the two pirates despite the chilly air, their eyes gleaming with lust as they handled the valuables collected by the sorcerer during his long life. At last the job was finished.
"Maps!" barked the sorcerer "I need maps to mark these places. Make them impossible to read!"
As the pirates drew their devious maps, the sorcerer set spells upon each mound of earth, designed to call forth the most terrible of monsters should any but he disturb the soil there. At long last, the moons now setting and dawn but an hour away, everything was in place. The sorcerer stretched out his hand for the maps, and fixed the two men with a piercing gaze.
"There is but one thing left to do" he said coldly. "There are guardians now, to kill any who dare to dig my treasure up, but that is not enough. I shall set some more guardians here, to attack even those who dare set foot on the island. And they shall begin with you."
Too late, the young men realized their folly and ran for the boat, only to see it engulfed in magical flames. The sorcerer waved his staff and chanted, bringing dragons and wyverns to life. He watched briefly as the beasts set to their grisly work, then, with a simple chant and flash of light, he was gone - taking his maps with him.
Those maps have now been found.
What: An event for Halloween hosted by Majestic Oak Auctions and the Treasure Hunters of Britannia. We will be digging up five level 5 maps simultaneously and invite you to take part in defeating the guardian spawn. There will be additional monsters on the island as well, some native and some not. Be advised that this event carries a heavy risk of participants dying!
In addition to all the monster loot and that from the treasure chests, which all goes to those who take part, we will also have a few prizes to hand out at the end of the day. - There will be pumpkins scattered about the island: one prize will go to the person who collects the most pumpkins - Death will no doubt visit us many times during the evening: one prize will go to the person who meets the grim reaper the most often (save your death robes, please)
When: Saturday November 1st, 8:00 p.m. CST, 9:00 p.m. EST
Who: The intent of this event is to provide a fun and challenging monster bash. In light of this, we respectfully ask that no fighting pets be brought along. All other classes welcome and encouraged.
Where: We will meet at the MOA auction house and gate to the island from there. Our destination is the small island East of Buccaneer's Den. Gates will be provided from the major banks to MOA 15 minutes prior to event start time. At the end of the treasure hunt, we will all move to a more congenial environment for handing out prizes and perhaps some storytelling.

Majestic Oaks Will Offer 1 Million Gold to a Lucky Visitor Tonight!!!
Posted Monday, November 10, 2003

Greetings Friends and Patrons of Majestic Oaks,
As you know, Majestic Oaks runs auctions Wednesday and Thursday from the main house and on Monday we have reopened the castle on Ice island that has served you all for so long. It has come to my attention that our friends are becoming disheartened at the number of auctions each week and have requested MOA address this issue at the risk of flooding the market and losing its uniqueness. In response to these concerns, I am suggesting steps be taken to back off on the community a little and keep our auctions something fun and exciting. The last thing we want is a shard full of people who are saying "Oh God not another auction tonight!! they just had one".
It's important that you all know MOA is taking in almost 200 items a week to be sold off for your pleasure and this is why you now have 3 auctions. In order to back down a bit we will have refined the list of accepted items and are stepping up the pace on the other two auction nights. Since Wednesday and Thursday are our signature evenings, those auctions will remain. However, tonight, Monday, November 10th, will be the last official auction from the castle in MOA format. From this day forward the Monday night event will change weekly to accommodate Casino Nights, Lets Make A Deal, UO Trivia Nights, BOD Trading/Auctioning nights and a few other things we are not ready to disclose.
The MOA team which is now 23 people strong, will not decrease in size. As a matter of fact, we are growing still - just trying not to bore you all with the same old thing three nights a week.
You'll need to watch Stratics, the MOA website and other sites for which Monday night event to expect each week. Also expect to see an announcement shortly as MOA will be expanding to another shard starting next month! In order to keep you all on the edge of your seat I won't say which shard till after Thanksgiving but it's already in the works and the Majestic Oaks Great Lakes team will be fully staffing this auction!!! We expect great things to come from this.
As I write this, the events team is planning the first Castle night event for November 17th as to not miss a beat or let a week go by without a Monday event. In honor of tonight's Castle event, we will be offering a Holy Knights Breastplate, A Wig, some Great Bods, Tree Ornament Jewelry, Colored Anvils, Nets, Sandals, Plants, Trees, Statues, and more then a few surprises. By night's end, the Castle sign will announce 85 THOUSAND visits and One Million in gold will be awarded to the visitor who sets off that number!

Trivia with a Pursuit Pays Over 2 Million Gold to MOA Patrons!!!
Posted Tuesday, November 18, 2003

Trivia with a Pursuit provided several attendees with 10 and 20K checks as well as lots of laughter and fun! Grigory was the second person in Monday Night Trivia history to answer the 500K question and he wasn’t the last one either! Wundermutt and Marlene also won 500K by answering some really tough questions!
Trivia got twisted a bit with MOA Algebra questions such as, “Justin has 92 hit points. Kamin has 92 magery with 0 eval. How many energy bolts will it take for Kamin to kill Justin?” (The answer was 9!) Special effects were in use too as patrons watched with delight as showers of fireworks erupted when Box #1 was opened to reveal… a healing potion! What? That’s right… now how do you make one? No help from the alchemists in the audience please! We also learned that you can be GM x a lot and a Dread Lady too boot and still not be able to do diddly in the kitchen as Marlene struggled with guessing the ingredients of Aria’s birthday cake but breezed through the really tough 500K question!
After Trivia, patrons raced to complete the Scavenger Hunt! Hunters had to find the following ten items: beeswax, recall rune, roast pig, orc helm, savage spear, a bottle of Grizelda’s Extra Strength Hangover Cure, a purple fish, a turnip, any slayer musical instrument and a picture of a mongbat from the Elwood quest. Lady Storm was the first to come back with all ten items and won 250K. Not bad for a half hour’s work! Next came Savannah to win 100K for her ten items. Third place prize of 50K for all items went to Cuthbert Allgood.
All in all… it was a great night!!! Keep watching here and at http://www.uo-moa.net for more information on Monday Nights at the Castle! We have lots of great events planned and lots more money to give away!!

Monday’s Twisted Trivia with a Pursuit
Posted Friday, January 30, 2004

The brown robed scribe flipped through a few pages of a musty manuscript, muttering the words to himself as he read. Lyaceum seemed to be getting a lot of research business from an odd fellow in a feathered hat who constantly wanted to know the history of Sosaria.
Just then, Justin Pierceson burst into the hall, blaring loudly, "WAIT! I’ve got it" let’s ask a question about Jeff the Lich!"
"Hmm" I think those are gettin’ kind of old, Just" maybe you should leave your imaginary friend behind?" Grendlyn said, shaking her head.
The scribe handed Justin a few scrolls with various scribblings on them in exchange for a pouch of gold, and thus the trivia questions were created"
Now that MOA’s secret source of trivia knowledge is out, come out to this Monday’s Twisted Trivia with a Pursuit at 9pm est! Held at the scenic Ice Castle, gates will be available from Brit and various banks start 15 minutes before the event. Love of knowledge will be in the air; and a little prize money for last minute Valentine’s Day gifts. On top of it, the ever-popular Scavenger Hunt will take place afterward! Overall, nearly 2,000,000 gold will be given away, and everyone has a chance! Hit the books, expand the mind, and come ready to win!
Don’t forget, the Lottery from last week is still going on, and the Progressive pot has grown to a total of 420k for the grand prize, and 42k for second place! Be sure to buy a ticket today!

It's Majestic Madness!!!
Posted Tuesday, February 10, 2004

Majestic Oaks Auction House got more than they bargained for with the Name that Game contest!!! Not only did Yellowbelly provide the winning name of "Chests of Doom & Delight" (D&D for short) for the nameless game but from here on out, thanks to Kenshin, the MOA Monday Night castle events shall be called "Majestic Madness!!!"
The Valentine's day edition of Chests of Doom & Delight (I just love that name!) saw many big winners... Chase left with a Clothing Bless deed, while Righteous walked away with a Doom Collection, Charissa got Doom Frequent Flyer Miles with 5 Golden Skulls, DaNk GrEeN BuD got hooked up with something green... okay... so it was an Emerald Fishing Net. I'm not really sure who the big winners were... possibly Lord of the Dead with his Lamppost but probably Yellowbelly as he went home with 6 110 powerscrolls (sword, parry, anatomy, healing, chivalry & focus) and a 150k check for the name! The big loser? er... that would be Vanna who learned it is best to check for traps before opening chests!
Last week's lottery hit at 450k, so this week, it began anew. Tonight's winning number was SSASSSSS with SSASSSSA being second. Unfortunately for ticket holders, no one was holding those tickets... well... the vendor was but he can't play! The good news is, no winner this week means the cash pot will increase and your tickets are still good... so hang on to them! For those of you with no tickets, they cost 10k apiece for a chance at a minimum of 250k. As this is a progressive lotto - the cash prize grows as tickets sell, the final prize could grow as high as 1 Million!
Next week, we offer games of chance to our patrons with "Vegas on Ice", aka Casino Night! Try your luck at darts or slots... unless the magic dice or coin are more your style! Whatever your game, please join us every Monday night, 8pm CST, at the MOA Vendor Mall Castle on Ice Island for Majestic Madness!!!

The 20 Million Gold Campout
Posted Thursday, February 19, 2004

Imagine a house full of gold and rare items just waiting to collapse at an approximated date and time. You can be a part of it! Some are campers and enjoy going out in search of houses that will fall to enrich their bank accounts, some want to camp because we all wish to be rich but lack either the time or incentive to search for a target. A house IDOC (In Danger of Collapse), the final stage of decay for a house that is ownerless or condemned to fall, but this one will be a disclosed location. Not only will you know where but you will also know about when and what to expect the looting to be like before you stand out there all day and wait for the collapse. Any building that reaches this condition will most certainly fall in about 18 hours, the difficulty in gauging he exact time is what makes this a fun and popular spot to hang around into he last few hours.

This weekend, Saturday, February 21 or Sunday, February 22nd, a small tower, just outside of Minoc on Trammel WILL FALL! The sponsors of this free for fun event have made sure the reward is comfortably in the neighborhood of 20 Million Gold in order to share their good fortune and bring some fun to the shard.

High Drama Vendor House in Luna
Lady Lava and Lord Kuan Ti, owners of the establishment High Drama, located inside Luna, have teamed up with the misfits that run Majestic Oaks Auctions (3 events weekly) to come up with this IDOC Treasure House for your looting pleasure.

At some point this Saturday or Sunday (our experts best guesses - there is no definite time/date we can give) the Treasure house will fall in such a location that all will be able to loot to their hearts (and pockets content). Runes at Majestic Oaks and High Drama will take you directly to the house and both staffs will be gating there for the next few days. Starting Saturday evening there will be random trivia events, food and drink will be passed out for those die hard campers and we will just basically have a few laughs. Then, at the magic time, the house will come crumbling down revealing its secret riches for all to enjoy, you must be there to claim the goodies so check the house often for its stages of decay. The stages of house decay are Like New, Slightly Worn, Somewhat Worn, Fairly Worn, Greatly Worn, and In Danger Of Collapse, which lasts approximately 18 hours. So once she is in IDOC you can pretty much get a close feel for when it will come down, be there to share in the rewards of a little camping trip.

Majestic Oaks Auction House This event is brought to you in order to bring life to our shard and share our good fortunes with our friends of Great Lakes and heaven forbid, have a little fun in the process. Lady Lava and Master Kuan Ti Owners of High Drama Vendor house in Malas Luna have gotten together with the Majestic Oaks auction team to bring you this first ever house falling event. First time events are not uncommon to either group, MOA runs auctions every Wednesday and Thursday at 9 eastern for 2 full hours and holds a major event every Monday at the same time. Lava and Kuan are a walking event and their contribution of High Drama to the shard is just further proof of that, always a surprise with those two and always done with style.

March Madness at the Oak!
Posted Wednesday, March 03, 2004

April Showers may bring May Flowers BUT March brings Madness at the Oak!!
In light of that statement, the gang at MOA has some very special items lined up for you this month as we kick it off auction style twice weekly and run events every Monday at the castle and also another signature event once a month for you and the other citizens of Britannia.
Since Pratt has moved over to Lake Superior we have just been breaking all the rules, giving away too much gold and stocking those mazes which are once again opened! Come to see the women of MOA in their girlscout uniforms or maybe even Nemo in a kilt if that's your preference (be drunk... be very very drunk ;P) as they put on a show every Wed and Thurs 9pm by the eastern sky.

So lets summarize:
- 2 Auctions per Week
- 1 Event per Week/5 per Month
- Gold Give Aways
- Mazes Craze
- Mystery Chests
- Random Item Prizes
- Recall game!!!

All that rolled up makes Majestic Oaks a team to be acknowledged for their contribution to Great Lakes. We hope you enjoy what we have done for you all up to date and we know you will enjoy what is yet to come!!
This week, the gang will share some of the treasures that have eluded you for some time including but not limited to ....
A Rare and Old Quest Item that is said to be from the Spider Queen herself only one on the shard!! This is not rumor. We have had it verified by 2 GM's and concurred with by some of the most reputable rares collectors that we know!
Also to compliment this fine Quest Shirt, we will bring you a Wash Basin, Blood Tiles, Large Trees, some of the Finest Power scrolls, Runic Kits and Hammers (Gold, Agapite, Verite), An Open Book, Rewards Statues, Bods and sooooo much more!
Don't miss us this week because next week you will be staring mouth open and wondering why you waited a week to come by!!

MOA Member Vanishes without a Trace
Posted Thursday, March 04, 2004

What began as a routine event ended in mystery and intrigue.

In their attempt to plan a new and exciting event, the Majestic Fun Crew apparently made an enemy... or an entire tribe of them...

It all began one dark and stormy night as Grendlyn called the Majestic Madness Crew to order. "Ok, people, we have a new name, a set schedule of fun events, and an awesome crew! Now, what can we do to make it even better?"

"Free food!" suggested Grigory.
"New ways to give away money!" beamed Monty Hall.
"A quest to a really dangerous place!" shouted Justin and Vail.
"New ways to kill Vanna!" Kelwyn grinned as Vanna whimpered.

"No... we need something new, something different, something wild and crazy!" insisted Grendlyn.

"Well, we are Majestic Madness... and March is supposed to be a month for madness" mused Kelwyn. "How about we do a Savage Scavenger Hunt using riddles as clues."

"Hey ya... and we could follow it with Team Trivia!" Justin’s eyes lit up. "Orcs versus the Savages!"

"Hhm... all the items can be savage items and the last riddle could instruct the players to return to the castle in full savage gear... masks, paint, spears, and bone armor! All of it! I like it!" Gren said as she stared off into the distance...

"She scares me when her eyes get all fevered like that," whispered Vanna to Vail as he nodded sympathetically.

And so it was born: Majestic Madness Savage Scavenger Hunt and Trivia! La Magra was the first to return to the Castle in full savage gear and win 150K. Following right behind him was Lady Luna with Dogyo trailing third and winning 100 and 50K respectively.

While our patrons were out scouring the land the MOA Fun Crew donned savage gear too! "Can’t let the contestants have all the fun!" grinned Justin as he smeared tribal paint on his receding hairline. Soon we had a castle full of savages and would-be orcs vying for gold as Grigory asked orc and savage-related trivia questions.

The Savage Team beat the Orc Team soundly and all were happily swapping friendly trash talk ("Savages Rule! Orcs Drool!") and gloating over their winnings (even the losers won gold!) when the Castle doors slammed open to reveal a regal but very savage-looking Queen Shabadinga riding a Savage Ridgeback and glaring at the crowd.

"Well, you missed trivia and you’re the last of the scavenger hunters! Hey Grendlyn, do we have a Last Place prize?" beamed Kelwyn.

"Silence! You have mocked the Aom tribe long enough! I, Queen Shabadinga, shall put an end to this! A cycle of destruction shall befall MOA! You dare ridicule my tribe! You will be forever cursed!"

The crowd was stunned. Grendlyn whispered, "Ut oh!"
"Uhm, it was just a scavenger hunt," murmured Kelwyn.
"And trivia," added Justin.

"You!" growled the Queen pointing to Kelwyn. "The Curse begins with you! I curse you, Kelwyn of MOA!" Queen Shabadinga wriggled her fingers and mumbled some fey-sounding words.
"Argh!" Kelwyn cried out in agony and disappeared!
"Cursed be MOA!" snarled the Queen as she rode away.

A frantic search of the Castle proved Kelwyn was truly gone.

"What now, Grendy?" asked Vail.
"I don’t know! I just don’t know!"
"If Kel doesn’t come back soon, can I eat her lunch?" asked Grigory.
"Grig! This is serious... Grend, we gotta tell Pratt!" Justin said sadly....

Stay tuned for more on this story!

Another MOA Member Vanishes - Presumed Stewified
Posted Wednesday, March 10, 2004

The Majestic Fun Crew was conducting its recurring event, Chests of Doom & Delight - Savage Style this past Monday night when Queen Shabadinga, of the Aom tribe, suddenly appeared and nabbed the host, Justin Pierceson, right from "da Circle of Savagery".

Justin was wheeling and dealing with patrons as they selected prizes such as, a dragon statue, a blue fishing net, doom artifacts, and other such items - electing to keep or trade for other prizes, when the Queen appeared. She chastised the group for mocking the Savage race and shouted, "Uga Booga Woogie", before she raced for the front doors of the castle and disappeared.

All that remained of Justin was his green feathered cap in the middle of the Circle of Savagery.

Last week, during Twisted Trivia, the Majestic Fun Crew chose to do a Savage-themed event. Little did they know their actions would offend those savages from the Aom tribe - specifically their leader.

Queen Shabadinga crashed Twisted Trivia, tossing insults at the Fun Crew and cursed all of MOA for mocking the Aom tribe - specifically Kelwyn as she was serving as the "Savage Team Mascot" during the Twisted Trivia event. Kelwyn has not been seen since.

Grendlyn of MOA refuses to be intimidated and insists that the Majestic Fun Crew will continue with their March Madness Savage Theme. This reporter wonders if Grendlyn will have any members of the Fun Crew left after the month concludes.

Majestic Oaks Auction holds Majestic Madness every Monday night, 8pm CST at the MOA Vendor Mall on Ice Island. Recurring events include, Majestic Casino, Let's Make a Deal, Twisted Trivia with a Pursuit, Chests of Doom & Delight, and Majestic Lottery. Please join them this coming Monday, March 15th, for Majestic Casino. Those that stand with the Fun Crew in defiance of the Queen and the Aom tribe by dressing as savages are sure to be rewarded.

The Savage Queen Strikes Again
Posted Friday, March 12, 2004
It was business as usual at the MOA Auction house Thursday night when Shabadinga, the Savage Queen of the Aom tribe, busted in and caused pandemonium amongst the crowd. It wasn’t clear why she was there. She was looking for "da humie leader of da MOAs". Upon smelling of the stench of Scorpion feet, she turned on DJ Scorp, the Thursday Auction Manager. At first it appeared as if she would take him too. However, MOA patrons began casting at her, apparently catching her off guard. She engaged in a verbal repartee with DJ Scorp, cursing him, his feet and MOA, before departing - alone.

"Yeah I was scared, who wouldn’t be after what happened to the other 2 MOA staff members." said patron, DaNk GrEeN BuD. "I mean, I don't see why she took Kelwyn or Justin. I mean, they are really cool people! The Queen SHOULD've taken Grendlyn! She has no sense of humor at all."

When asked where the 2 missing staff members were, the Queen stated she had made a nice "humie" stew and had eaten them. "Tastes like chicken." she added.

After the auction concluded, patron etv reported possibly spotting the two missing staff members.

"I saw them wandering around the dungeon Wrong. Something about them seemed vaguely familiar, perhaps it was the uniforms they were wearing. They were moving aimlessly and seemed dazed, as if they were sleepwalking", etv stated.

This reporter wonders... what could be next...

Return of the Queen!!! - 2 More MOA Members Vanish
Posted Tuesday, March 16, 2004

It was Madness and Mayhem last night at Savage Casino when Queen Shabadinga returned to take two more MOA staff members! The night began as you would expect as Grigory, Vail, Monty Hall, and Emerald Ice dealt while Grendlyn gated. However, the castle was still a savage mess and the staff were still attired in the finest of savage wear... in fact, many of the patrons showed up in savage attire to show their support of Grendlyn and MOA's defiance of Queen Shabadinga and the Aom tribe... but, at what cost?

Earlier in the evening, as Grendlyn was standing safely behind a counter - handing out casino chips to those dressed as savages, thanking them for their "savage support", the Queen showed up. The ever "diplomatic" Gren demanded to know where her staff members were and insisted they be returned immediately and unharmed. She then went on to express that MOA was not afriad of the Queen nor her tribe and that it was them that should be afraid of MOA. Gren stated that if the Queen did not return her people, MOA would find them, rescue them, and kill every savage that stood in their way, starting with the Queen. At that point, the Queen left.

However, a short while later, while Gren was in the open area of the casino, the Queen returned. Without saying a word, she attacted Grendlyn who screamed and quickly ran up the stairs to hide (like a scared little girl?). Grigory and Vail rushed to block the Queen in her pursuit of Grendlyn and, as a result, incurred curses from the Queen, which resulted in their disappearence.

Later in the evening, when asked why she ran and hid, Grendlyn said she felt it best to perserve her own life for the good of the team. When questioned further, as the first statement did not make much sense, Grendlyn elaborated saying that her team would be lost without her... like a chicken without a head. Funny - it seems like Grendlyn is the only member of the team now not lost and it is likely that her staff are now all without their heads anyway....

In other Majestically Mad news, there are two lottery tickets still at large, AASSASAA, winner of 150k and AASSASAS, winner of 15k. If you have either of these tickets, contact Grendlyn.

Saint Patrick Taken!!! 1,000,000 Reward!!!
Posted Saturday, March 20, 2004

Saint Patrick, who was auctioneering in honor of the holiday at Majestic Oaks Auction on Tuesday, was kidnapped! Queen Shabadinga, leader of the Aom Tribe, stormed into the auction house and stole the famous Saint with a burst of flame. MOA is currently organizing a search party for the missing members and the now missing guest host. Plans include the launch of a full scale search starting from the MOA Main Auction house on Saturday, March 20th, at 6pm by the Eastern Skies. A 1 Million Gold Reward is being offered for the safe return of St. Patrick with 250k being offered for the safe return of any MOA staff member.

Rumor has it the Aom Treasure hoard will be scattered around in order to lure scouts into traps! After a safe rescue, for the virtues will surely be with those who are trying to save the kidnapped, celebration will take place at the Royal Oaks Tavern (where the St. Patrick Celebration was to be held on Saturday).

Rules of the Quest

If you find Patrick or an MOA staff member, you must
Resurrect them
Add them to your party
Guide them out to the drop off point to meet up with DJ.
If, along the way, your rescuee meets an untimely death,
They will remove themselves from your party
They may become dazed and confused and wander away
Rescue attempts can be made by either a single person, or by a party.
Rewards will be split between the party members that successfully return any of the kidnapped staff or Saint Patrick.
Death Robes are a symbol of your bravery and should be kept.

Whats New at Majestic Oaks ?? Lots !!
Posted Tuesday, May 11, 2004
The caravan stopped just outside Vespers south gate as the Magical Portal that would lead to Buccaneer's den just crested their horizon marking destination reached. The huge clearing held only one building the gracious event location of the Majestic Oaks Auction team. Together the small troupe unloaded precious cargo to be labeled for sale at the next available date, inside waited a staff member in what could be a tavern wench uniform (or a girl selling cookies they would later ponder) . Even the smallest of the vendor troupe had the wherewithal to lift her sack of treasures over the cashiers table for inspection and admissions. After the caravans items were secure in the MOA vaults till the next auction all sat down to a hearty meal and the finest Dwarven spirits confiscated from an old Grump figure quite some time ago.

Ok Ok .. So maybe the dramatics' is a bit .. well fantastic but it definitely rings true on more then one point. Yes , you can bring your items to MOA and get greeted by a cookie striper waiting to secure those baubles for sale in the upcoming auction.

Yes they are located on Trammel aside the Bucs Portal just outside of Vesper.

Yes you can come and eat drink and be merry (we might not share the Dwarven spirits) anytime you like !

Yes there are more then enough MOA events on Great Lakes to satisfy all your needs!

Those things plus games of chance and just random gold giveaways, the best items for sale and a friendly hard working staff of over 24 mature persons (well not JIM Spellhurler) are ready to serve you. Majestic Oaks houses have served Great Lakes successfully and with the utmost trust and respect for more then most peoples past (in one form or another) and will continue way into our future together! On Monday night the Fun Crew brings you a different weekly event starting 9 PM eastern from the Great Castle on Ice Island, the staff is proud to be part of the castles 104,368 visits to date (yes over 100k !!) and we promise that the 110k mark will be greeted with much fanfare and prizes for all to help us celebrate. The main MOA house (almost 70k visits looking for 75 ) is proud to bring you BI weekly auctions (sometimes three nights when we run on Saturday) Wednesday and Thursday at 9 PM by the eastern sky the workers open the doors and roll out a welcome to the whole shard. During each two hour auction no less then 65 items will be sold, over 200k in random gold prizes and more then a few surprises are always close at hand. Majestic oaks is also proud to offer vendors of the highest quality to be found at all MOA/ELF owned houses except the auction room. Runes to all MOA event houses and shops of the best quality are locked in those green books found at every MOA/ELF location. An Apology to Patrons of Majestic Oaks Auction
Posted Friday, May 21, 2004

Normally, I enjoy writing to tell you of all of the exciting happenings at the Majestic Oaks Auction House over by the mighty Buc’s Den portal. Over the years, we have relied on you, our patrons, to help make us one of the most successful tri-weekly player-run events on Great Lakes. Thus, you are the most valuable aspect of the house! The items, the free gold giveaways, the events-- they pale in comparison to the life blood, the spirit, and the excitement that you provide.

Bearing that in mind, I take the quill today, to clarify and apologize for an unfortunate incident that occurred at a recent MOA auction. In our position as trusted auctioneers, we regularly handle items ranging in worth from a few thousand gold pieces, to multi-million gold items. Since they come from our patrons, we treat these items with the utmost respect and give them the protection they deserve. Yet, what occurred on Wednesday evening, was an unfortunate error in adequately protecting something entirely more valuable, your personal safety.

Wednesday evening was different, in that one of the greatest legends from the history of auctioneering on Great Lakes, made a dramatic return. Red Devil, from RD’s Auction House, ran auctions for several years, at a time when our facets were joined. After assisting the crew in auctioneering for a few items, Red Devil joined the crowd of patrons and became another member of our family, just as you all are.

At the close of the evening, Red Devil asked our permission to open a gate to the historic RD Auction House Tower in Felucca. Time has long since passed since the days of RD and his auctions, so not enough consideration was made on this request. The dynamic in Felucca has changed, and these days, one must be extra vigilant to ensure the safety of those on that facet. When Red Devil opened the first gate to Felucca, we as the staff, failed to adequately warn our patrons of the dangers involved. Anytime one steps through a red gate, there are certain warnings that should be given. As the risk of death in Felucca is always real, we were not able to guarantee the safety of our patrons, something that we strive to do at the MOA House itself.

It is for this mistake that we at Majestic Oaks, would like to extend our apologies. As an organization, it is always important to learn from the mistakes that are made and do our best to pledge that they are never made again. We will not fail you in this respect in the future.

As a gesture of our good faith, and as a show of community support, we at MOA will be giving away 1 million gold at each of the next three auctions beginning this Saturday, the 22nd of May. While gold may not heal the wounds inflicted on Wednesday evening, perhaps it will go towards healing the promise that was broken in protecting your safety.

The Heat is On at Majestic Oaks

A lone figure settle huddled inside a small tower in the farthest reaches of Felucca pondering his existence and future on this realm. He could not imagine how it was everyone else had so much more gold then he after all his faithful years in service to Great Lakes . How could this world be so cruel to one with so much self proclaimed charisma, and why did he care anyway. Shaking his head to clear away those foul thoughts Jim Spellhurler dipped his quill in exasperation and penned out the following announcement.

To All ye who care it is my job to tell you about Majestic Oaks Auctions that will run Wednesday June 9th and Thursday June 10th starting at 9pm by the eastern sky. As always gates are from West Brit all through the night as the staff makes your travel as effortless as possible . Gold give aways, games of chance and the finest items this side of Blackthorn's Castle are all intermixed with the most dedicated staff . This week will be more of the same and some of the features you can look for are going to be ...

Potted Plants , Runic Hammers and Kits , Ethereal Mounts , A Skinned Deer, Stat Scrolls, Brit Guards Sash , High Level rewards, Blue Bread , Axe of the Heavens and soo much more. For a full list go to http://www.uo-moa.net where you can find items, questions, answers and staff histories.

The old Spellhurler male placed down the feather and folded this paper affixing his seal to insure no tampering. A low whistle brought froth a black bird who snatched the parcel from his masters hand and flew off to deliver the message . Jim stood up , shook his head once more as he spoke the command that would light this old stone tower as the black cloak fell to the floor. A single word brought the mage to a world of light and inside the courtyard of Trammels Museum of Memories. Smiling for being silly enough to feel bad for himself Jim perked up and went to find his MOA uniform since the auction starts in one hour . Yes one hour go there now!!!

Greetings Friends of Great Lakes,
In response to a discussion brought about by the MOA auction opening up to submitters of once illegal Purple Hued "Sigil" Items, the MOA crew has sent us the following information.

From the Desk of Pratt on the eve of the third day sometime after the sun has gone down...

I cannot deny the excruciating detail with which Nemo has attacked the question on the banning of purple sigil items from our auction event. His latest studies are very disheartening to those hoping to make gold off these long preserved hidden away items. As I write this, allow me to quote his attention to detail in this endeavor...

"Here's what has been verified can be done on sigil colors

A normal dye tub can be made to match sigil purple, so anything that can be dyed with a normal tub cannot be accepted. Need proof? I have the matching normal dye tub and Ophelia is the one that matched it.
Weapons and shields can still be hued sigil purple using an old bug, so I would say that those items also should not be accepted... this is now pretty much general knowledge I think.

If at some point though we find out other things can still be hued, we must be prepared for a possible backlash about them.

Nemo MOA"

That was from Nemo's first report and at a glance most would say that there are many items still left that you can consider rare and not craftable anymore. Well I would have agreed yesterday myself. The next paragraph is the second report that proves more...

Weapons and shields are an uncertainty for now... until someone can verify about the other things, we have to treat that as rumor. Can't speculate on what can't be proven unfortunately.
One more thing that has been proven is anything that can be dyed with furniture dye tub can also be matched to sigil purple colors

That brings list of things to the following confirmed.

anything that can be dyed with normal dye tub
anything that can be dyed with furniture dye tub
all weapons
all shields

And as if that were not enough to help us quell this onslaught, yet again the Mighty Nemo goes where no investigator has gone before, into the underground where sources are confidential and you barely come out intact. The last report is from such sources and we will show you proof of what he has found...

Here's the list from research and testing...

Things that CANNOT be made sigil purple to my knowledge at this time Runebooks, jewelry, masks, sandals... and possibly a couple other items, but unlikely.

Essentially anything else can be made sigil purple... Spellbooks, ALL weapons, ALL shields, ALL armor, torches, lanterns, candles, clothing using normal dye tub, furniture using furniture dye tub, and more.

Basically if it isn't a mask, sandals, runebook or jewelry, they can be made purple... maybe as time goes on, it will be found that these items can be made also.

Recommend that we accept no sigil hued items unless they happen to be actual rares even if they weren't purple.

Also recommend that purple items be removed from any vendors in MOA malls unless they make it known on the item they are selling in description that they can still be made.
Nemo MOA

And as I stated, we will prove these items have been made recently and can still be obtained if you know how. However since we are not sure of some details, and just because its in poor taste, we will not say how or who has created them. We offer you, the shard of Great Lakes, this information and take a firm stand against any Purple Hued items since they are not rare. Our auction has always stood behind the reputation and experience we can loan to our customers and we are hoping this information will be seen as the same "for your own use and good." Until next time this public service announcement has been brought to you by Majestic Oaks Staff investigations service - Sergeant Nemo in charge!

P.S. These findings are only the opinion of MOA and some of its staff, any findings do not represent OSI or anyone else's permission to use or create such items at any time and MOA will always go at the game makers discretion as to any changes in the ruleset and we shall comply forthwith with same.

MOA Receives Surprise Visitor at Auction
Posted Thursday, July 29, 2004
MOA received quite the surprise last night when GM Sparkle stopped by for a visit. Initially, she took a seat in the crowd like any other patron. Quite frankly, I was waiting for her to start bidding!!!

But then, GM Sparkle got up from her seat and walked right through the auction counter, into the pit itself. (Observation: GM bodies are obviously not corporeal)

While this act stunned the MOA staff, it delighted the audience and set Tasha, MOA's lovely auctioneer, and GM Sparkle in a competition for attention.

The crowd shouted out accolades to Sparkle such as, "All Hail GM Sparkle!" and "We love ya Sparkles!" while Tasha attempted to carry on with the auction - but to no avail. Tasha tried everything to regain control of the crowd, including flashing a bit of leg, which, I must say, did get some of the crowds' attention. However, GM Sparkle one-upped her by climbing on top of the auction table and doing a little dance while the crowd cheered. (Observation: If a GM's body is not corporeal, then how could the GM stand on top of a solid object? Wouldn't they fall right through?)

Tasha graciously succumbed in attention grabbing defeat as GM Sparkle continued to woo the crowd, but then, just as suddenly as she had appeared, GM Sparkle vanished from our sight.

So It's War You Want??? Let's Fight!!!

Greetings to you all on Great Lakes!!
Let it be known that the castle that was once occupied by Majestic Oaks has been seized by the Anti Pratt and her minions as they vow to never allow events in that house again!!! Now this of course will not be taken lightly by the MOA family. As of this writing, they are preparing an attack on these fiends to retake what is rightfully theirs.

This Friday at 10pm EST/9pm CST will be the final showdown between good and evil and you are all invited to take part in this wondrous event that will not be for the faint of heart. Along with the castle, Anti Pratt has acquired 10 Mil in Gold coins and another 3 to 5 Mil in rare and unusual items/treasures and all will go to the winners and some even to the losers for their efforts.

Now it's time for you all to choose - are you with the side of good that will help MOA take back their home and keep on bringing you those fun and lively Monday night events? Or are you with the Anti Pratt who wishes to see the demise of such fun times and keep all the wealth for herself?

The quest will last about 2 hours (depending how long it takes each team to reach their goals and fight for the right to share in the rewards) and will start at MOA and adventure through the realm in search of fame!

To be part of this PvP/Adventure you will need to follow a few guidelines ....

You must be guilded to the war stones at least one hour before start time (you can be guilded as early as Thursday night after auction)
You must understand that dying will be inevitable for some and anything you wish to keep you must insure or leave at home.
Looting will be a free for all on both sides and the rewards will be plentiful!
The Person retrieving or protecting the Castle deed will get the most reward but all players will share Millions!
One Tamer per team with a max of 2 Pets only.
No bannings or removals will be allowed of registered players only (all others will be locked out of the event houses until the duration has expired)
If you wish to sign up, your name and icq# must be provided and you must be available by 8:30pm EST or your spot will be given away.
Only 30 Applicants will be accepted due to time and room restraints.
The PvP rules are there are NO rules!!! Kill with extreme prejudice.
Resurrections will be allowed by only one person on each team and that person will be a neutral MOA provided staff person who cannot be attacked.
This event may carry over to many different GL locations. All traveling spells will be provided as needed.
Each team will have a self appointed captain and 30 Minutes with the rules to make a game plan.
All prizes will be awarded by MOA or AMO (Anti MOA)
MOA will not be responsible for any personal belongings that may be lost during PvP but we will have crafters on site to make equipment if you so desire.
Last and most important!! If you cannot have fun with this, stay home. Any griefers or sore losers will be removed from war stones and banned from all related locations.

Anyone wishing to join in the fun can ICQ the following staff to join.

Pratt will accept people to fight for the side of good and righteousness at ICQ #7489459
Ethereal will accept those of the evil ilk to fight with the Anti Pratt at ICQ # 17036186
Hope to see you Friday Night!!

From the desk of Soul Blighter, MOA Treasurer
Britannian date: May 30, 349

To all Staff ....
The following problems need to be addressed immediately and it is my intention that you will all get them completed in the next week.

Besides the hundreds of items gathering their turns in the chest rotation, it has came to my attention, from the estates roster, that the establishment once know as Green Frog is due to sell. Three houses are being held in MOA escrow pending the sale of this famous vendor location listed so colorfully on stratics. Known for their plants, seed and University of plants throughout the years. The complex of three buildings holds a total of 84 vendor spots. The main building is a 16 x 18 with 2437 lockdowns. The adjacent right house has 1265 lockdowns and the smaller counterpart to the left. These 3 buildings, practically attached to each other, make a great emporium, small city beginning or whatever your heart desires. Of course you will need 3 free accounts to own this establishment so please keep that in mind before you come to bid. Runes to this sale are available on the cashier's table at MOA until Wednesday, October 20th, when they will go up on the auction block to the highest bidder.

Carrier of this notice bears the Insignia of our Lord British please expedite
May the recipient of this parcel understand it is the direct intention of this office that directions be followed to the letter. Any difference will be judged as non-cooperation and penalties according to the current rules will apply. It is to be known that the estate in the name of Drunken Master is to be liquidated to settle people versus Drunken Master court of Trinsic Judge Fordham presiding. The aforementioned estate owner will be responsible to obtain funds decided upon and paid directly to the courts by end of week. Failure to comply will cause seizure of all assets and properties until such a time as settlement can be made.

Magistrate Janna
In Service to the King

Pratt let the note fall to his desk and smiled slightly at what Drunken had gotten himself into this time, deciding he did not want the details he began to write a scroll of his own.

Soul Blighter,

I am writing you this 3 days prior to your Wednesday auction event and requesting a personal favor details not following ;P Go to the estate of Drunken Master and take possession of all items of the greatest value. List them for this weeks auction and put all other items back one day to Thursday. I know what this means and I appreciate your attention and am counting on your discretion to keep this under wraps.

Pratt

The next day Soul and Ethereal ride up on Drunken Masters abode, caravans in tow and ready to meet any welcoming party. A lone figure came from within the mansion to announce their welcome and granted them free reign of the establishment. Ethereal shrugged and rode on, eager to get to the days business for she was needed elsewhere all the time lately.

A small preview of the list made by MOA staff this day is as follows....
Too Much LRC Armor
Dozens of Paragon Chests and Mini Artifacts
Reversed bandages
Rewards deeds and Tubs
Sandals of varied Types
Plus 20 Stats Scroll
White Xmas Statues
Tapestry of Sosaria
Potted Plants and Ethereals

That is just some of what you can expect to behold off this Wednesday 11-3 at Majestic Oaks Auctions. On Thursday we will feature an extra 30 Minutes of Madness to catch-up to ourselves and keep the submitters from breaking down the doors for their gold ;P As always you can check this list of items at http://www.uo-moa.net. Every Wednesday and Thursday starting 9 pm Eastern, the MOA team will open its doors to the public for as many items as we can sell in the two hour time period. Always games, prizes and random giveaways. Gates are provided from the West Brit bank all through the night for your convenience. Mondays are different events from the MOA castle on Ice Island, a schedule of which is also located on our site. The next event will be Chests of Doom & Delight on Nov. 08.

Thanks for reading!

A Friend Has Gone
Posted Saturday, November 06, 2004
On November 04, Majestics Oaks lost one of its own - Fortubo, aka Christopher Ahearne, passed away.

Fortubo had been a member of MOA since June of 2004 but had been a patron long before that. Self-dubbed, "The WeatherMan", Fortubo would send a 'Sosaria Weather Report' out to everyone on his ICQ list every morning. Actually, I think his daily weather report was really his way of saying, "GoooooOOOOOOd Morning Sosaria and fellow Britannians. Hope Everyone has a Safe and Joyous day."

Fortubo was also a bit of a pack rat. He was often seen at Brit bank picking up items from the ground to sell or later use. One of his latest collection efforts was to get a complete set of the Obsidian Statues (there are 52 different statues). While he didn't quite get there, he did manage to collect 21 complete sets of monster paintings from the statue quest... well, that is until he faced the dreaded item count limit on his house.

Mostly, Fortubo was a kind, caring, and helpful guy. Even when he wasn't feeling up to it, he was often seen at MOA Auctions helping out in any way he could. At the recent Fall Festival, Fortubo ran around the crowd passing out little gift baggies containing little odds and ends (the idea to do this was Fortubo's and was born one day as he looked at the horde of Treasure Maps he'd amassed and chose to give them away). Fortubo was also a frequent volunteer at the Castle for the Majestic Madness events.

Chris was only 34 when he passed. He had been diagnosed with multiple cancers and knew his life would be short. Yet he considered living with cancer inspiring as he sought to squeeze the most out of his life, his relationships, and he encouraged others to do the same.

"Enjoy each day to the fullest for you never know if there will be a tomorrow."

"Get out and enjoy the day, the sun is up there is no rain in sight"

Chris "Fortubo" Ahearne

Monty & Vanna Rescue Mission: Big Reward... HUGE!!!
Posted Monday, November 22, 2004
From the desk of Grendlyn,

On October 12th, Monty Hall and Vanna White left the castle for a Columbus Day Memorial Boat Excursion. It was only supposed to be a three hour tour (a three hour tour). But... the weather, well, it got a little rough and you know those tiny boats... they tend to get tossed a bit... and well... it's been over a month and Monty and Vanna still have not returned! ... and Justin!!! Justin's been missing for eons!!! We must find our missing crewmates!!! We MUST!

Tonight, November 22, marks the first anniversary of Majestic Madness. We'd planned a big celebration but have to forgo the hoopla as how could we celebrate without Monty Hall, Vanna White and Justin Pierceson? So instead of Balloons, there will be Boats. Instead of Trivia Questions, there will be Clues. Instead of Exploding Vannas there will be monsters (well, maybe Vanna will still explode if we are lucky), but... there will always be CASH and PRIZES!!! ... 12.5 Million of them!!!

Yes, you heard me correctly. MOA is offering 2.5 Million Gold apiece for the return of Monty, Vanna, and Justin. So gather your friends, form your search parties, and show up at the MOA Castle on Ice Island at 8:00 pm CST (9pm EST). Gates will be provide from many Trammel banks.

Here is what we know so far...

They left Ice Island on the SS Guppy October 12th.
We've heard rumors that they are lost at sea and have become fish food, so a watery search will be required (boats and sextants will be provided)
We've also heard that they are just beyond "The Field of Plenty"??? We do not know if this is a reference to Heaven or perhaps a song by Sting. All we know is it is rumored that treasures abound here (I sure hope it doesn't mean Heaven).
There are those in the land and shops of Trammel that are said to possess information leading to the location of our missing castaways.

Rules of the Quest

If you find Monty, Vanna, or Justin, you must
Resurrect them if you find them dead,
Add them to your party,
Escort them to the Castle.
If, along the way, your rescuee meets an untimely death,
They will remove themselves from your party
They may become dazed and confused and wander away
Rescue attempts can be made by either a single person, or by a party.
Rewards will be split between the party members that successfully return any of our missing staff back to the Castle.
Death Robes are a symbol of your bravery and should be kept.

So come on over to the castle tonight, Monday, November 22 at 8:00 pm CST and help us find our friends and maybe make a few pieces of gold in the process!!!
