Log of the Forty-sixth Governors' Council 5/15/17

Post by Lord DaKaren » Sat Jul 22, 2017 5:52 pm

King Blackthorn: *nods hello to everyone*
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: Contact my secretaries (Elizabella@uoem.net and Malachi@uoem.net.)
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for assistance with an event,
King Blackthorn: it should be sent to Lord Raine (UORaine@gmail.com).
King Blackthorn: He has a cottage with a mailbox in northwest Britain, near the North Side Inn.
King Blackthorn: I see that several governors were unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Would anyone like to speak for one of their towns this evening?
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
Jennifer-Marie: *glances sideways warily*
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Britain this meeting. Governor Warner, you have the floor.
Dot Warner: Thank you, Your Majesty.
Dot Warner: Britain fares well, though those afflicted by serpent venom are still recovering.
Dot Warner: The next Britain Town Social is scheduled two weeks from Wednesday, on the 31st at 8pm C.
Dot Warner: It will be an evening of spirited conversation and finger foods.
Dot Warner: That is all I have. Thank you, Your Majesty. I yield to Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: Thank you Governor Warner and Your Majesty
Tanda: Minoc has endured a second visit from these gray beings
Tanda: we're still investigating
Tanda: the remains of the fallen, it appears they are not from
Tanda: any known place within Sosaria
Tanda: which is concerning
Tanda: We have been told to expect
Tanda: another raid this week
Tanda: by then I hope to have a total update of what the post mortems reveal
Tanda: so far, no new disease have arisen from it
Tanda: and we've held our own. They seem determined
Tanda: to evict us from this world
Tanda: That is all I can tell you all for now.
Tanda: I shall yield the floor to Governor Janice
Janice Andrysiak: *nods slowly*
Janice Andrysiak: Thank you..
Janice Andrysiak: *fumbles with notes*
Janice Andrysiak: Our missing author, JL Polstan, was found skinned, disemboweled and hung in Moonglow.
Janice Andrysiak: The news .. has broken my heart. I don't know that you all...
Janice Andrysiak: *clears throat*
Janice Andrysiak: I know not everyone appreciated him and some questions have been raised about his personal life.
Jennifer-Marie: Some?
Janice Andrysiak: But I hope we can all join in condemnation of this brutal loss of life.
Janice Andrysiak: *stares blankly at notes, shuffling them absently*
Janice Andrysiak: If I'd spent more time listening than reading...
Janice Andrysiak: Perhaps if I'd just confronted these men myself?
Janice Andrysiak: Instead I hired others to do my work...
Janice Andrysiak: *pinches nose and folds up her notes*
Janice Andrysiak: *glances over at the king*
Janice Andrysiak: I have not done right by Jhelom, your Majesty.
Janice Andrysiak: JL Polstan was not well known with my constituents. In my blatant pursuit of my own self interest
Janice Andrysiak: I've ignored the city's woes, its needs, its very core principles, and now I've endangered
Janice Andrysiak: myself and others.
Janice Andrysiak: I hope you can all forgive me. I will endeavor to do better.
Janice Andrysiak: *folds hands into lap*
Janice Andrysiak: That was all I had to say..
Janice Andrysiak: *looks down the line*
Janice Andrysiak: I yield to Governor Willa of Yew.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Janice.
Janice Andrysiak: *nods*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Sorry to hear of your woes.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: While Yew is not struggling and certainly not being invaded by Gray beings we count ourselves most fortunate.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Though this would not be time to be idle or unwatchful for dangers.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: As we all know they are all around us.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Yew still continues to be blessed with peace and prosperity.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: That is all I had and I yield to Carpe.
Carpe Diem: Everything is going good in vesper, nothing to report as of yet
Carpe Diem: I yield to Lady Jennifer
Jennifer-Marie: Thank you, Governor.
Jennifer-Marie: Thank you, Your Grace.
Jennifer-Marie: Trinsic has seen an uptick in our Trade Deals, which adds more cushion to our coffers.
Jennifer-Marie: I am currently in the planning stages for a Summer celebration in Trinsic to thank the loyal citizens for their hard work.
Jennifer-Marie: And still, we are lending our services to Governor Farrah of Skara Brae. While the mysterious illness has not grown, there has yet to be a cure found.
Jennifer-Marie: I do hope to be able to provide Your Grace with more information soon.
Jennifer-Marie: Thank you, that is all I have.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Ah, we'll wait for Governor E.
Mr E: Apologies all
Janice Andrysiak: *smiles at Mr E*
King Blackthorn: Greetings, Governor E. Please go ahead and tell us about the state of New Magincia.
Mr E: New Magincia is doing well. The coffers are steady. The people are peaceful.
Mr E: Many celebrations in recent days for several mothers on the island
Mr E: No big events on the horizon currently and no trouble to report at this time
Mr E: I yield
King Blackthorn: Thank you.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, shall now address the Council.
Magnus Grey: Your majesty. Governors.
Magnus Grey: I have an update on the mages that went missing in Moonglow.
Magnus Grey: Most were abducted by a strange creature called a Paradox Mane.
Magnus Grey: The creature was summoned or created by a mage named Thariand.
Magnus Grey: There is a prophecy where the Mane destroys part or all of Moonglow,
Magnus Grey: So we are currently looking for ways to stop or contain the Mane.
Magnus Grey: As for the mage, Thariand has been casting other questionable spells.
Magnus Grey: While one version of the mage was killed by the Mane,
Magnus Grey: Another Thariand who has been manipulating time is on the run.
Magnus Grey: The Royal Guard has been tasked with finding him.
Magnus Grey: We hope information from Thariand can be used to stop the Mane.
Magnus Grey: Much of our efforts are focused on stopping this strange magical force.
Magnus Grey: And I will report when I know more.
Magnus Grey: Any questions on Britannian security?
King Blackthorn: My thanks to Minister Grey.
Magnus Grey: Thank you for your time.
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Andrysiak, my condolences on the horrific death of JL Polstan.
King Blackthorn: Please don't blame yourself. Only the killer is to blame.
Janice Andrysiak: *nods absently*
King Blackthorn: Governor E, I am glad that all is well in my city of shepherds.
King Blackthorn: A day to celebrate mothers? What a wonderful idea. Maybe it will become a tradition.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, these mysterious gray beings are very concerning.
King Blackthorn: I shall be very interested to hear the results of your investigations.
King Blackthorn: Minoc's strength shall hold the line against the invaders.
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I wish a speedy recovery to those recovering from the serpent venom.
King Blackthorn: The Town Social sounds festive. A perfect way to greet the beautiful weather.
King Blackthorn: Governor Jennifer-Marie, congratulations on Trinsic's trade deals.
King Blackthorn: The Summer Celebration sounds delightful.
King Blackthorn: How kind that Trinsic is offering assistance to Skara Brae in its time of need.
King Blackthorn: Governor Diem, it is good to hear that my city of Merchants is doing well.
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, I am glad that all is peaceful and well in my city of Justice.
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
King Blackthorn: These were all ably handled by Lord Raine. My thanks to him.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
Throm Suglun: Govnor Janice!
Janice Andrysiak: *blinks*
Throm Suglun: You'll pay the price with blood fer failin to meet ar demands!
Janice Andrysiak: You!
Throm Suglun: 'n let that be a lesson to the rest of yuh, specially you, Govnor Cat lady.
Throm Suglun: Do wha's right by yer people!

** Throm Suglun kills Governor Andrysiak with several well-placed arrows **
Terrance: Stop!
George: *blinks*
Terrance: You killed that cat!
Terrance: *swipes at the air*
George: Huhh..
Dot Warner: Uhm...
Dr Jerred DeSule: *the...*
Terrance: It was a pretty kitty!
Dr Jerred DeSule: *blinks*
Terrance: Quick! Sniff him out!
George: *sniffs the air*
Dot Warner: Is Janice okay?
Tanda: *turns to look over Governor Janice*
Terrance: *reaches down and tries to urge Skattles*
Terrance: Good boy!
Mr E: Blah he was a hero. Other than accidentally shooting John.
Skattles II: mrwff!
Tanda: It doesn't look good
Mr E: and the pet
Terrance: Find him!
Dr Jerred DeSule: I.. believe the governor is dead..
Mr E: Even the wondering healer who was summoned is running away
Tanda: I would agree
Dot Warner: *frowns*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *frowns*
Dr Jerred DeSule: *looks stunned*
Zeke Chuffington: ...the devil?
George: *swats at the air*
Mr E: *grins*
Terrance: *reaches into his pouch and takes out a half eaten chicken leg*
Terrance: Good boy! Find that killer and I'll give this to you!
Magnus Grey: *frowns and watches the room carefully*
Skattles II: mrwf?
Terrance: I'll even debone it first!
Jennifer-Marie: *looks sternly* Perhaps weapons should be left at the gate from now on ...
Terrance: What an injustice!
Skattles II: *sniffs around*
King Blackthorn: Some people may feel safer being able to defend themselves though.
George: Hrmm..
King Blackthorn: It's a difficult issue.
Tanda: We'll have the Governor moved to Jhelom
Athena: I’m shocked he got in here undetected.
Mr E: I defend myself with magic... could you fix that!!!
Skattles II: brwff
King Blackthorn: We can't ask warriors to leave their weapons at the door if mages can come in.
Terrance: Yes! It is!
Skattles II: *sniffs doors*
Terrance: *looks around suspiciously*
Jennifer-Marie: Magic isn't allowed within these walls, Your Grace.
Terrance: I wonder if he bribed someone ...
Dot Warner: The castle is warded against magic though...
Magnus Grey: *blocks door*
Jennifer-Marie: Mages are vulnerable, but warriors are not
Jennifer-Marie: And now we have a Governor who has been felled, in your presence, Your Grace
Willa of the Yew-Wood: * sighs*
Jennifer-Marie: What if that assassin had been after you, Sire?
Skattles II: *whines*
King Blackthorn: Very distressing. Does anyone know who the killer was?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I could not defend everyone.
George: Justice!
George: Justice!
George: Justice!
Terrance: Say, do you think that dead kitty needs her coin purse?
Mr E: A good aim
Mr E: *snickers*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: It would seem there is a need for Justice.
Tanda: Well a group called Men of the Wood
Terrance: I'll look for clues.
Tanda: something like that threatened her
Willa of the Yew-Wood: They are not from my wood.
John: From what he said your grace it was one of the group that threatened the Governor, and killed the author.
King Blackthorn: We shall leave this room and go to the throne room.
King Blackthorn: That way this room can be secured and investigated.
Terrance: Come on? No jingle jingle?!
Tanda: That makes sense
Mr E: *smiles*
Terrance: No clues here!
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Your Grace I worry for your safety.
King Blackthorn: Now the room is clear for investigations.
Tanda: No one has threatened me of late John
Jennifer-Marie: Governor E, you're standing on my foot, sir.
Athena: Does anyone have any skill in tracking?
King Blackthorn: Minister Grey seems to be searching the Council room.
Mr E: Apologies ma'am
Tanda: They likely have gotten what they came for
John: I am m'love not prone to take chances.
Terrance: I can track a star in a sky! My eyesight is keen!
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Poor Janice.
Jennifer-Marie: *glances at Terrance*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Whatever shall the people of Jhelom do?
John: Governor Warner
John: with me
King Blackthorn: I see that Minister Grey has called in paladins to investigate.
Mr E: Celebrate
Jennifer-Marie: *nods at Governor Willa* Aye. With all of her ... obsessions, she did not deserve her fate.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: E!
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Shame on you.
Jennifer-Marie: *stands straight* The Paladins are competent and able, Sire.
Mr E: They came to Magincia bars nightly to complain
Tanda: Well I guess that's one way to deal with death
Jennifer-Marie: With elections looming, will Jhelom remain without a governor until a new one can be chosen by the citizens?
Zeke Chuffington: *picks wax out of ear thoughtfully*
King Blackthorn: I think the elections are before the next Council meeting.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I do hope the culprit can be found soon.
Jennifer-Marie: *nods* Perhaps we remaining Governors can care for the citizens of Jhelom until elections are through.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Well Yew will always offer it's support.
King Blackthorn: That is a good idea.
John: Too late.
Terrance: *raises his hand*
Jennifer-Marie: *nods at Governor Willa* Trinsic's Paladin forces are stretched thin, what with the crisis in Skara Brae, but we will provide all we can.
King Blackthorn: Yes, Terrence?
Dot Warner: *arches a brow*
Terrance: I'll do whatever I can for the fine people of Jhelom.
Zeke Chuffington: Thar's people in Jhelom?
Terrance: If you want me to step up and be governor, I wil.
Zeke Chuffington: Thot it were just mongrels and wastrels and such.
Terrance: I've no experience leading, and I've never even been to Jhelom, but I believe in doing my duty for Britannia.
King Blackthorn: Thank you for the offer, but I don't know if we'll need a new governor before the elections.
Terrance: ... Jhelom was the one destroyed by demons, right?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Minister Grey thank you for your quick action!
Jennifer-Marie: *blinks*
Terrance: So wait, does that make it New Jhelom?!
Magnus Grey: *nods*
Tanda: Yes Thank you
King Blackthorn: Magincia was destroyed by demons.
Terrance: I thought there was a Sultan in New Jhelom not a governor ...
Mr E: *nods*
Magnus Grey: We have blood hounds searching for clues, and the guard has secured the room.
George: *frowns*
Terrance: *rubs his beard thoughtfully*
Magnus Grey: However, we were not able to track the criminal.
Athena: There are no footprints or signs of anyone not visible here either.
George: The hell it was! That's just what "they" want you to think!
Athena: I admit my skill in tracking is rather novice though.
Terrance: Ah, politics.
Terrance: *bows his head respectfully to the King*
Magnus Grey: If you noticed any details about him, please let me know so I can update the warrant.
George: Magincia was destroyed by the Fishing Council o' Britannia, and I 'ave proof!
King Blackthorn: Thank you for securing the scene of the crime, Minister Grey
Terrance: *eyes widen at George's words*
Jennifer-Marie: It all happened so fact, Minister Grey. Who would have expected an assassination here, and with the King present?
Mr E: I am sure Magincia was a few things but it IS currently doing amazing.
Terrance: *looks to Jennifer-Marie*
Terrance: I bet that assassin expected it!
Terrance: *shakes his fist angrily*
Tanda: You have a fan Governor
Jennifer-Marie: *bites her tongue and stares at Terrance with a stone glare* Yes ... I think that is self-evident.
Tanda: *looks to Governor E*
King Blackthorn: I think it's time for us all to return to our homes.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Someone will need to inform the Citizens of Jhelom.
King Blackthorn: Each governor is likely to be safer in their own town tonight.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Your Grace.
George: Justice!
George: Justice!
George: Justice!
King Blackthorn: Minister Grey and I will inform the citizens of Jhelom of their loss.
Tanda: It maybe so
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I'm sure this will go to the High Council as well.
Dr Jerred DeSule: Skattles, come here
King Blackthorn: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight. Stay safe.
