King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
Aornis: Hello, sire
Tanda: Your Majesty
Tanda: *smiles*
Kittie: Good evening your Grace.
King Blackthorn: *nods hello to everyone*
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: Contact my secretaries (Elizabella@uoem.net and Malachi@uoem.net.)
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for assistance with an event,
King Blackthorn: it should be sent to the Lady Wraith (wraithbroadsword@gmail.com).
King Blackthorn: She has a cottage with a mailbox in northwest Britain, near the North Side Inn.
King Blackthorn: I see that two governors were unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Would anyone like to speak for one of their towns this evening?
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Jhelom this meeting. Governor Jameison, you have the floor.
Thom Jameison: Thank you your Majesty, fellow Governors.
Thom Jameison: Things continue to go well for the city of Jhelom.
Thom Jameison: Business is booming and my citizens enjoy blissful peace thanks to the diligent efforts of
Thom Jameison: the Jhelom Defense Force.
Thom Jameison: I am in the process of trying to get support for a person to pay bounties on pirates at out
Thom Jameison: docks.
Thom Jameison: As I have said before if any city needs additional guards or merchants want extra protection
Thom Jameison: please contact me.
Thom Jameison: That is all I have to share and I yield to Governor Willa of Yew.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Oh thank you Governor Thom.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Yew has been relatively quiet.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thankfully.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We do have some concerns regarding a certain nefarious prisoner we are housing.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are hoping to get some information from them regarding the whereabouts of that awful Von Carl person
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I'm hoping we can soon bring him to Justice.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Other than that things are quite good in the City of Justice.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I yield the floor to Governor Aornis.
Aornis: Thank you, Governor Willa
Aornis: Things have been.. interesting in Vesper
Aornis: A few weeks ago my scouts heard rumors of a pending attack on the city... by Harbingers
Aornis: Last Wednesday Vesper citizens and volunteers from surrounding towns went on a patrol
Aornis: We were accosted by many of the foul creatures
Aornis: I am happy to say that we eradicated the Harbinger scum
Aornis: Though I do worry that their brethren may seek retaliation next year
Aornis: Since the successful patrol, all has been quiet.
Aornis: My fair city's citizens are enjoying the safety they deserve
Aornis: I yield to Governor Kittie
Kittie: Thank you Governor Aornis.
Kittie: Your Grace.. *smiles, blushing softly*
Kittie: Moonglow has been quite peaceful. This weekend we tried to add some new animals to the Zoo.. but unfortunately, it was not a good venture.
Kittie: Unfortunately, the dangerous Raptors escaped and made nests all over Verity Isle. Thanks to the help of brave citizens, they were able to fend them off and prevent any further damage from being done. *smiles*
Kittie: Unfortunately however, these animals did not make it to be returned to Ter Mur. *frowns* .. So for that, I deeply apologize your Grace.
Kittie: Other than that, I am just dealing with a certain .. beast .. of my own *growling under her breath* .. that attacked me in Moonglow afterwards.. but I am sure I will sink my claws into it at some point or another.
Kittie: *smiles and nods* That is all your Grace. I yield the floor to Governor Arminger.
Norman Arminger: Thank you, Your Grace
Norman Arminger: Trinsic is rather quiet. Modest progress on all fronts.
Norman Arminger: I will be looking for ideas to increase the number of citizens who claim
Norman Arminger: loyalty to our city.
Norman Arminger: Tis rather a ghost of it's storied past but other than that all is well.
Norman Arminger: I will yield the floor to Governor Knighthawke of Minoc.
Dot Warner: *coughs*
Tanda: Thank you Governor Arminger
Norman Arminger: oh excuse me to Governor Warner.
Norman Arminger: my apologies.
Tanda: *nods*
Tanda: Governor Warner
Dot Warner: Thank you, Governor Arminger. Thank you, Your Majesty.
Dot Warner: Britain fares well. The city coffers are continuing to hold steady at 148 million gold.
Dot Warner: We haven't had any sightings of Von Karl or his mutt.
Dot Warner: The Second Annual Smuggler's Run Regatta is scheduled for this Saturday, August 22nd at 1pm CDT, starting at the Moonglow dock.
Dot Warner: This is a timed ship race from Moonglow to Skara Brae, with the grand prize being a newly commissioned Britannian ship.
Dot Warner: Please register at the Tribune (gl.uorpc.net) at least thirty minutes before the start time.
Dot Warner: Also, the Second Annual Colonial Challenge Tournament is scheduled for September 19th at 1pm CDT, registration will open at the beginning of the month.
Dot Warner: In local news, I've heard tell that Ingrid, the Chief Healer of Cove, may have found a cause for the ongoing illness there.
Dot Warner: However, since specifics are lacking, I'm taking it as rumor for now. Hopefully more will be known soon.
Dot Warner: The Red Ankh Society is still accepting donations for the beleaguered hamlet.
Martin Ashburn: *nods*
Dot Warner: Director Ashburn may be found in the Society's office under FitzOwen Green.
Dot Warner: That is all, Your Majesty. I yield to Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: Thank you Governor Warner, Your Majesty
Tanda: The patrol in Vesper, was the last time I saw the mange mutt
Tanda: causing issues
Tanda: In Minoc we have been getting reports
Tanda: of pack animals disappearing, found one or two out in the forest
Tanda: dead
Tanda: appearances seem as if preyed upon
Tanda: an increase in thefts of tools
Tanda: and oddly increase in reports of either poor maintenance
Tanda: of equipment or breakage
Tanda: of mining carts and such gear
Tanda: at this point there are no indications
Tanda: as to what if anything is behind this
Tanda: a few stories about labor
Tanda: or workers being offered
Tanda: to local companies
Tanda: again I've not found any sign of yet
Tanda: as to whom
Tanda: we will be checking things out
Tanda: that is all your Grace.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, shall now address the Council.
Magnus Grey: Your majesty. Governors.
Magnus Grey: Our forces have recovered another of the Moonstones of Vice.
Magnus Grey: The Moonstone of Wrong was recovered from the Isle of Crypts in Ilshenar.
Magnus Grey: This leaves two currently at large.
Magnus Grey: It seems that our gargish allies have found the Moonstone of Pride.
Magnus Grey: Unfortunately, they are using it to power their underwater city of Ambrosia.
Magnus Grey: We are currently investigating how to remove the stone...
Magnus Grey: Without destroying the city or our alliance.
Magnus Grey: The Ministry of Security is also keeping an eye on the Time Lord's work.
Magnus Grey: Hawkwind has recovered three of the gems he needs for his plan to stop Minax.
Magnus Grey: Britannia's citizens are working hard to support his quest.
Magnus Grey: Minax tried to hinder the effort, but she has been unsuccessful.
Magnus Grey: I will keep you informed if either situation changes.
Magnus Grey: Any questions?
Magnus Grey: Thank you for your time.
King Blackthorn: My thanks to Minister Grey.
King Blackthorn: *looks at notes*
King Blackthorn: @@@@@! Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: *clears throat*
King Blackthorn: Governor Jameison, I am pleased that all is well in Jhelom.
Tanda: *raises eyebrow*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *looks at the King*
King Blackthorn: It sounds like Jhelom has become a very safe place, with a resultant boom in commerce.
Kittie: *ear twitches*
King Blackthorn: How thoughtful of you to offer the City of Valor's assistance to others.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, it is good to see how well the sister cities of Vesper and Minoc
King Blackthorn: work together.
King Blackthorn: Hmm, however an outbreak of thefts and needless animal slaughter in Minoc is as surprising as
King Blackthorn: the equipment and carts crafted by the town's fine craftspeople breaking.
King Blackthorn: Very puzzling, but I have every confidence that your investigation will be successful.
Tanda: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, that is an impressive treasury. Fitting for a capital city.
King Blackthorn: The regatta competition sounds very exciting! I hope you have good weather that day.
King Blackthorn: The tournament sounds exciting as well. Best of luck to all the competitors!
King Blackthorn: I hope all give generously to the Red Ankh's assistance for Cove,
King Blackthorn: and that Chief Healer Ingrid is successful in her research.
King Blackthorn: Governor Arminger, it is good to hear that all is well in my City of Paladins.
Martin Ashburn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: I wish you great success in increasing the city's population.
King Blackthorn: Governor Kittie, I am sorry that the attempt to bring new animals to the Zoo did not go well.
Kittie: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Congratulations though to your citizens on their valor in fighting the raptors!
Kittie: *smiles and blushes softly*
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: So many of our towns have been tested in the past month and bravely risen to the challenge!
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, congratulations on the alertness of Vesper's scouts,
King Blackthorn: And also on the valor your citizens and allies showed in fighting the harbingers!
King Blackthorn: Yes, truly peace is sweetest for those who have earned it.
Aornis: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, I am pleased to hear that all is well in Britannia's breadbasket.
King Blackthorn: I hope that my City of Justice is successful in its investigation.
King Blackthorn: *looks at notes*
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Your Grace.
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: There weren't any this month, except those ably handled by the Lady Wraith. My thanks to her.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
King Blackthorn: Now citizens may present new issues.
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
[via com crystal] Lord Rodrik Von Karl says: so fast your majesty?
Kittie: *smiles and blushes* Thank you your Grace.
[via com crystal] Lord Rodrik Von Karl says: No comments from the citizens?
Kittie: *ears twitch as she lets out a growl*
King Blackthorn: Ah, well that saves several of my governors the trouble of finding you.
King Blackthorn: Citizens may present new issues now.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *glares*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *looks about nervously*
[via com crystal] Lord Rodrik Von Karl says: Well your Majesty and Governors I can find them anytime.
King Blackthorn: *looks around*
[via com crystal] Lord Rodrik Von Karl says: Even you .
Dot Warner: *sighs*
Kittie: *growls, baring her teeth*
[via com crystal] Lord Rodrik Von Karl says: But I think we will keep you as King, if we deposed you they might
[via com crystal] Lord Rodrik Von Karl says: find someone competent to run the realm.
King Blackthorn: *shrugs* Of course you can always find me.
King Blackthorn: I'm the best mage in the land, I have no need to hide.
King Blackthorn: *checks table for severed heads*

*** several members of the Light Horse Mercenaries appear and kill Alex Tresscot of the Jhelom Defense Force ***

*** John Knighthawke and Governors Warner and Yew-wood respond by attacking the brigands, driving them off ***

Kittie: Your Grace.. are you okay?
King Blackthorn: I am fine, thank you governor.
Kittie: *nods* Forgive me then..
King Blackthorn: *looks through notes*
Aornis: Well, it looks like I finally attended an eventful Royal Council
Tanda: Such a menace
Aornis: What I shame I cannot be touched
Aornis: *smiles smugly*
King Blackthorn: *mutters* I'm sure I said something about adjourning.
Kittie: What was that?
Tanda: Aye, I believe you did
John: Everyone ok?
Aornis: *nods at the King* These scum rarely listen to authority
King Blackthorn: Well, I suppose running around the Council Chamber is good exercise.
Dot Warner: That was satisfying.
Aornis: Aye
King Blackthorn: *again checks table for severed heads*
John: Everyone ok?
King Blackthorn: You know, I think we can still call this meeting a success.
Aornis: Everyone is alive, after all.... at least now they are
Kittie: *nods.. *
Dot Warner: Belaern isn't...
John: That depends on your point of view your grace.
King Blackthorn: *puts notes in order*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: The poor man is very dead.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I could not repair his wounds.
Tanda: That is too bad
King Blackthorn: Who is dead?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: The young man over there
John: A random attacker your grace.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *points towards Alex*
Dot Warner: Rodrik's minions.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: He appears unable to be revived.
King Blackthorn: My condolences to his family.
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *sighs*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We really need to find this Rodrick fellow
King Blackthorn: Indeed
King Blackthorn: I notice Governor Goldie approaching.
PabII: aye it is getting more dangerous for the governors every day
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Ah good
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I was wondering how Magincia is.
King Blackthorn: Minister Grey shall go and escort her to the Council Chambers
King Blackthorn: Good evening, Governor Goldie.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Goldie you missed the attack.
King Blackthorn: Please sit down, governor and tell us the state of New Magincia.
Goldie: Thank you Sire
Goldie: my apologies for being late
King Blackthorn: *nods regally*
Goldie: New Magincia has been fairly quiet
Goldie: I have paid protection money an got an private note
Goldie: that there may be violence here tonight
Tanda: *tilts head*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Why would you do such a thing?
Goldie: so to avoid it I arrived here later than scheduled
Dot Warner: There was.
Kittie: *raises a brow*
Mr E: *Looks puzzled*
Kittie: *growls as she sniffs the air*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *grabs her bow tightly*
Goldie: I am a merchant and sometimes you need to play both sides
PabII: *looks at Goldie*
Goldie: I hope no one was gravely injured tonight
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *rubs her shoulder*
Dot Warner: Belaern was...
Goldie: well that ok he deserves it
Goldie: That is all I have to report tonight
King Blackthorn: *looks surprised at all he has heard*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *frowns*
King Blackthorn: *gathers his thoughts*
King Blackthorn: Governor Goldie, it is unfortunate that you felt it necessary to pay for safety.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: You know one could almost consider that a treasonous act.
King Blackthorn: Your fellow governors have very ably helped each other assure the safety of their towns.
King Blackthorn: You may wish to ask for their assistance in security issues.
King Blackthorn: Also, had you warned this Council ahead of time about the danger,
Kittie: *growls, baring her fangs, her ears flatten to the top of her head underneath the hat*
King Blackthorn: they may have been better prepared to combat it.
Goldie: Magincia is a merchant town and I did not want any violence to occur period
King Blackthorn: Though they reacted swiftly and well.
King Blackthorn: *rubs forehead* Still, it might have been best to send a warning.
King Blackthorn: Also, paying for safety once often means paying for it for safety again and again.
Goldie: my apologies , in hind sight I see that now
King Blackthorn: *smiles at the governor* I hope you will warn us of such things in future.
King Blackthorn: I want to see all my governors working together.
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
Goldie: *looks ashamed at hands in lap*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: So when are you taking a Wife M'Lord?
Tanda: Blessed Be Your Grace
Kittie: *blushes!!!*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Should you not take a wife your Grace?
King Blackthorn: It's ok, Governor Goldie, everyone has actions or omissions they wish they could take back.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Is it not customary?
Kittie: *covers her red face with such a question*
John: *shaky from the encounter looking around nervously*
King Blackthorn: *looks startled at Governor Willa's words*
John: *sword twirl, technique shaky*
Tanda: *shakes head*
Kittie: W-Well... y-your Grace.. I .. I mean..
Willa of the Yew-Wood: What fun it would be to attend a Royal Wedding?!
King Blackthorn: One can hardly find a wife at the local provisionary.
Kittie: Well, perhaps your Grace not need look very far? *blushes*
PabII: *smiles*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Certainly there are eligible ladies about?
Dot Warner: *imagines the carnage that would ensue*
King Blackthorn: *looks surprisingly nervous for the best mage in the land*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *bats her eyes*
Kittie: *blushes*
King Blackthorn: Oh dear
King Blackthorn: Adjourned
Dot Warner: *laughs*
Tanda: Smart man
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *giggles*
Kittie: *hides her face*
Norman Arminger: *shakes head*
Dot Warner: Scared off the King... Great job!
Dot Warner: *claps sarcastically*
