by Lord DaKaren
King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: *nods hello to everyone*
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: Contact my secretaries (Elizabella@uoem.net and Malachi@uoem.net.)
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for assistance with an event,
King Blackthorn: it should be sent to the Lady Wraith (wraithbroadsword@gmail.com).
King Blackthorn: She has a cottage with a mailbox in northwest Britain, near the North Side Inn.
King Blackthorn: A primer on the procedures of this council has been written.
King Blackthorn: (You can find it on greatlakes.uoem.net, click on the Royal Council link on the righthand side).
King Blackthorn: It will be updated soon with the new information.
King Blackthorn: I see that several governors were unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Would anyone like to speak for one of their towns this evening?
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Minoc this meeting. Governor Knighthawke, you have the floor.
Tanda: *looks startled*
Tanda: Thank you your Grace
Tanda: Minoc has been well, working on trying to restructure
Tanda: my personal enterprises to help supplement the City
Tanda: It has been quiet which has allowed me some time to reflect
Tanda: I am still trying to put a theological finger
Tanda: on some whisperings I am hearing
Tanda: in the ethers
Tanda: Nothing that I expect is a threat to the realm
Tanda: I will yield to Governor Jameison
Thom Jameison: Thank you Governor Knighthawk, Good evening Your grace, fellow Governors
Thom Jameison: Things are progressing well in Jhelom. Trade is increasing and businesses are expanding.
Thom Jameison: We have had no serious incidents I am glad to report.
Thom Jameison: One of our newest businesses has agreed to sponsor our next town meeting.
Thom Jameison: Susie's Tavern.
Thom Jameison: I will be sending out invitations when everything is in order and hope your Grace might find
Thom Jameison: the opportunity to bless us with his presence.
Thom Jameison: *smiles*
Thom Jameison: That is all I have to report at this time. I yield to Governor Willa of the Yew-wood
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Governor Jameison.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Fortunately the City of Yew has been quite peaceful....
Willa of the Yew-Wood: However I do have a slight concern.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: With having heard that Lady Minax was seen in the lands again....
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I am quite concerned that she might attack my Theatre.....
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Many years ago when I was married.... my husband was amongst some who attacked her in the dark lands.....
Willa of the Yew-Wood: She fell before him and he took from her a cloak.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: It rests at my Theatre.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I'm rather concerned she might come looking for it.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Or send minions to retrieve it.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I'm thinking I should find a spell to conceal it.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: At any rate for now it's quiet... and I hope it stays that way.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: That's all I had... I pass the torch to Governor Aornis.
Aornis: Thank you, Governor. I hope Yew remains safe.
Aornis: All is well in Vesper at the moment. Her citizens are enjoying the lovely spring weather
Aornis: Though I fear something may be brewing in the woods that border Vesper and Minoc.
Aornis: It is just a suspicion at the moment, but one cannot be too vigilant.
Aornis: I yield to Governor Warner.
Dot Warner: *nods*
Dot Warner: Thank you Your Majesty, thank you Governor Aornis.
Dot Warner: Britain enjoyed a resurgence in tourism this spring, mostly thanks to the somewhat garish squirrel statue erected just west of the First Bank of Britain along the moat.
Dot Warner: Our trade is booming, with over 136 million gold in the city's coffers.
Dot Warner: The next King's Cup qualifying tournament, the Rumble in the Jungle, is scheduled for 1pm on May 30th in the Lost Lands Arena.
Dot Warner: While it won't be formally advertised on the Tribune till the end of this month, registrations are already being accepted.
Dot Warner: That is all. Thank you, Your Majesty.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, shall now address the Council.
Magnus Grey: Your majesty. Governors.
Magnus Grey: Britannian Security Forces recently captured the Shame Knight.
Tanda: *smiles*
Magnus Grey: They are now looking into a matter of Zanium smuggling.
Magnus Grey: The mineral is used as a magical reagent and results in more powerful and erratic alchemy.
Magnus Grey: Current suspects are all members of the Seers of the Moonstone.
Magnus Grey: The group is a chartered part of the Ariel Haven,
Magnus Grey: And many of the group have been essential to the colony's survival.
Magnus Grey: Despite this, it seems that some have been performing dangerous research.
Magnus Grey: Others may be looking for dangerous moonstones as well.
Magnus Grey: I will keep you informed of the situation.
Magnus Grey: Any questions?
Magnus Grey: Thank you.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I heard rumors that someone found some of that stone
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Zanium was it?
Magnus Grey: Yes, Zanium.
Tanda: Blessed be M'lord Grey
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Lord Valeran was mentioning something of it to me.
Valeran: *nods*
Magnus Grey: Do you happen to remember the location?
Valeran: *nods*
Valeran: I own a home on Dragon Isle
Magnus Grey: *nods*
Valeran: I found an orange moongate near Bordermarch
Valeran: I entered.
Valeran: It led me to the Isle the Underworld entrance is located on.
Dot Warner: *sips coffee*
Valeran: On the ground were "Zenium Mixtures"
Valeran: As I further investigated
Valeran: I found an entrance to the Ariel Haven?
Valeran: I believe that's what you called it
Magnus Grey: *nods*
Magnus Grey: The colony in the Underworld.
Valeran: Once I came upon a Balron I left
Valeran: Aye.
Valeran: I found a book mentioning Nighthawk
Valeran: and several visions however I think that old news.
Valeran: The Zanium Mixture however was in several spots
Valeran: south of the Casino.
Valeran: I was unable to acquire any nor use it in any way.
Valeran: That is all I know.
Magnus Grey: Actually, a balron? That may be Xenve An-Amo-Lem which is also in that area.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Probably a good thing.
Magnus Grey: But I will look into the matter.
Valeran: A Slayer, aye.
Magnus Grey: Thank you.
Valeran: My blade is at your service mi'lord.
Magnus Grey: Britannian Security needs everyone every Tuesday.
Magnus Grey: *smiles*
Valeran: *nods*
Magnus Grey: Thank you.
Valeran: I shall make it a point to attend.
King Blackthorn: My thanks to Minister Grey and Valeran.
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Jameison, it is good to hear that all is well in my city of Valor.
King Blackthorn: It is very kind of you to invite me to the town meeting.
King Blackthorn: I do not know if I will be able to attend.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, I am pleased that all is well in Minoc.
King Blackthorn: It is very noble of you to donate your personal funds to supplement the city.
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I congratulate you on Britain's economic resurgence.
Tanda: *nods*
King Blackthorn: I had noticed all the crowds on my strolls through town.
King Blackthorn: I wish you luck with the tournament.
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, I am glad that all is well in Vesper.
King Blackthorn: Yes, the weather has been delightful of late.
King Blackthorn: I shall inform the Royal Guard of your concern about the woods.
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, the Royal Guard shall try, as always,
King Blackthorn: to maintain a strong defense of Britannia.
King Blackthorn: However, I wish you luck with your quest for appropriate arcane lore
King Blackthorn: to protect your valuable relics.
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
King Blackthorn: The governor of Yew requested a bulletin board.
King Blackthorn: I approved that request passed it along to the builders.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you your Grace.
King Blackthorn: I was strolling through Yew this evening and did not see the bulletin board yet.
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, has the board been built?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I did not see it when I was there last Thursday.
King Blackthorn: *frowns* I couldn't find it either.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: But I shall look again soon
King Blackthorn: I shall see if the builders plan to build it soon.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Not to worry though.
King Blackthorn: *nods*
King Blackthorn: There were no other requests this month.
King Blackthorn: I hope you have all been working with the Lady Wraith. She is very nice.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
Tanda: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: Please go ahead, Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: If you following up on Bulletin Boards with Builders
Tanda: I had submitted a request
Tanda: on my more last term
Tanda: to no avail
Tanda: I suspect they've been busy
King Blackthorn: Oh dear, I didn't see that in my notes. *looks through folders quickly*
Tanda: unless my pigeon got lost on its route
King Blackthorn: I'm just looking for the relevant papers, just a moment.
Tanda: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, did Vesper get its bulletin board?
Aornis: I'm not sure, but I believe we only have the original one at the bank
King Blackthorn: One of my secretaries remembers your request, Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: *smiles*
Tanda: Then I'm not Senile yet
King Blackthorn: So it did arrive.
Valeran: heh
King Blackthorn: All right, so I will contact the builders about Yew, Vesper, and Minoc.
King Blackthorn: Britain has one.
Tanda: Thank you Your Grace
Dot Warner: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Governor Jameison, would you like a bulletin board?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you so much Your Grace.
Thom Jameison: yes please
King Blackthorn: One of my secretaries does have records of passing along Minoc's request
King Blackthorn: on August 5th
Willa of the Yew-Wood: That was quite some time ago indeed.
King Blackthorn: I am also told Vesper has been waiting patiently as well, since October.
King Blackthorn: *sighs*
King Blackthorn: I am so sorry not to have followed up earlier.
Aornis: Aye, A citizen confirmed we have not built ours yet
Willa of the Yew-Wood: It's alright M'Lord.
King Blackthorn: I will ask again about them tonight.
Aornis: We understand that construction permits take time
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I'm certain you have many pressing matters to attend.
King Blackthorn: *smiles* You're all very kind.
King Blackthorn: We'll send the requests again and I hope that by the next meeting
King Blackthorn: they will all have been built.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: That would be wonderful... Thank you Your Grace.
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
Tanda: Aye, Thank you
King Blackthorn: *smiles at all his governors*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: So..... can we look forward to a Royal wedding at any point in the future?
King Blackthorn: *looks startled*
King Blackthorn: Um, is the Empress of Tokuno getting married?
King Blackthorn: *tries to think of any other royals in Sosaria*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Well..... You could wed her and expand the Kingdom!
DaKaren: *arches a brow*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Or perhaps the Princess of Nu'Jelm.
Martyna Z'muir: *snickers*
Valeran: *grins*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: If you can't stop them from having Slaves by politics!
King Blackthorn: *looks worried*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Do it by acquiring the lands.
Tanda: Oh my the Princess in Nujel'm is most disagreeable
King Blackthorn: *looks uncomfortable*
King Blackthorn: I have many royal duties.
Tanda: Surely Our Liege could do much better
King Blackthorn: No time really for anything else.
Martyna Z'muir: *smirks*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: One must keep an eye to the future of the Kingdom.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We would hate to be without a ruler again.
Dot Warner: There is always adoption.
Valeran: We could use an heir to the Throne!
King Blackthorn: *mutters to himself* Why is this crown suddenly so heavy.
Valeran: The pitter patter of tiny Lord Blackthorn feet!
Tanda: *covers mouth to stifle a giggle*
King Blackthorn: I don't think this was on the agenda for the meeting.
DaKaren: You may want to run Your Highness...quickly.
King Blackthorn: Surely there are other new issues to discuss?
Thom Jameison: *smiles*
Tanda: We do apologize Your Grace
Thom Jameison: might be something you can't avoid
Tanda: Spring is in the air
King Blackthorn: I'm sure you all have my best interests at heart.
Dot Warner: Well... Your love life has been on the lips of gossipers lately..
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Apologize!?! It's a legitimate concern.
King Blackthorn: I suppose I am a public figure now.
Martyna Z'muir: Especially after that tawdry book.
King Blackthorn: Still...
John: *nods* Aye.
King Blackthorn: New issues, anyone?
John: *raises hand*
King Blackthorn: Please go ahead, John
John: Thank you your grace.
John: I note the ongoing disappearance of High Council Minister Earlhad Todie.
John: All with information are urged to contact the high Council's Grand Marshal of Virtue,
John: Sir Polynikes of the Yew Militia.
John: I further note that the troubadours of UO radio will be
John: hosting two events this coming Saturday -- see the calendar my father's business posts for details
John: Finally, I note that, unless more has happened
John: that I am not aware of,
John: the apparition of Minax Governor Willa referred to has occurred
John: at the most-recent High Council meeting. While I should doubt
John: that it really was Minax, though all is possible, whether it is or not,
John: I tend to think dark ladies running around claiming to be her are a cause of concern,
John: and I am sure the High Council's armed forces will remain vigilant.
John: That is all from me, your Grace.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I am not crazy I had heard rumor of her sighting!
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I am very worried about my Theatre!
King Blackthorn: *Thank you, John, for those informative announcements.
Dot Warner: That woman wasn't wearing enough makeup to be Minax...
John: I did not look that close under her hood for my part.
Dot Warner: She stood near me for a bit during the Bunny Bash.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Well from what I was told she was wearing far too much coverings as well.
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
Willa of the Yew-Wood: But then maybe she was upset about my having her cloak.
King Blackthorn: Perhaps
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight.
