King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
John: *nods*
Tanda: Good Evening your Majesty
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Greetings your Majesty.
Aornis: Hail, King Blackthorn
John: Your grace.
John: *salutes*
Requi Mortaul: Evening
Nemesis: Hail
King Blackthorn: *nods hello to everyone*
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: Contact my secretaries (Elizabella@uoem.net and Malachi@uoem.net.)
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for your town,
King Blackthorn: a place has been setup for you to post it on a public message board,
King Blackthorn: magically visible to all citizens.
King Blackthorn: (It's a thread on the Great Lakes EM Stratics board)
King Blackthorn: (http://stratics.com/community/threads/g ... ts.321840/)
King Blackthorn: Post at least three days before a Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: Our answer shall be posted on the public message board as well, rather than sent by pigeon.
King Blackthorn: A primer on the procedures of this council has been written.
King Blackthorn: (You can find it on greatlakes.uoem.net, click on the Royal Council link on the righthand side).
King Blackthorn: I see that several governors were unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Would anyone like to speak for one of their towns this evening?
King Blackthorn: *looks through notes*
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each governor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Yew this meeting. Governor Willa, you have the floor.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Your Grace.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Things have been wonderful in Yew.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are looking forward to Brialla's walk coming up.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: And things have been very calm of late. Don't want to jinx that but it's been very nice lately.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I pass to Aornis.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles*
Aornis: Thank you, Governor
Aornis: All is going well in Vesper, especially since we no longer have a certain official mucking about.
Aornis: Vesper will be holding its first town meeting next Wednesday, January 28
Aornis: 8c/9eastern
Aornis: We will be meeting at the Vesper Governor
Aornis: Governor's office
Aornis: I will also be handing out some of Vesper's Best Brandy, as was requested previously
Aornis: That is all. I yield the floor to Governor Nemesis
Nemesis: Thank you Governor Aornis
Nemesis: Moonglow is doing great! We have had more and more citizen get involved with city activities
Nemesis: Our treasury is doing great and I hope the citizens keep up the great work.
Nemesis: We are on our way back to the golden days.
Nemesis: I am also in the middle of organizing some meetings and special projects for our citizens
Nemesis: That's all from Moonglow. The floor is your Requi Mortaul.
Requi Mortaul: Thank you Nemesis
Requi Mortaul: and good evening.
Requi Mortaul: I will keep this brief, there has not been much change since we met last.
Requi Mortaul: Things are pleasantly quiet as a tomb.
Requi Mortaul: Although, funds are still at a comfortable status.
Tanda: *leans and glances at Governor Mortaul*
Requi Mortaul: Trade deals have been a touch inconsistent but I have now established a schedule
Requi Mortaul: so that it is not lapsed.
Requi Mortaul: That is all and thank you.
Dot Warner: Thank you Your Majesty, thank you Governor Mortaul.
Dot Warner: Britain and her citizens are happily weathering the mild and blessedly uneventful winter, all is well.
Dot Warner: I expect to hold a meeting regarding the next tournament cycle either later this month, or early next.
Dot Warner: This will mainly be to tweak rules and such.
Dot Warner: Please look for the announcement on the Tribune.
Dot Warner: One odd thing, I have been randomly assaulted during public events as of late/
Dot Warner: The person, or persons, responsible appear to be stealthers, and have no apparent pattern or motive.
Dot Warner: I thought all the governors should be warned in case they are targeted as well.
Thom Jameison: *nods*
Dot Warner: I yield the floor to Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: Thank you, your Majesty, Governor Warner,
Tanda: Thank you for the warning, such has not happened to me thus far
Tanda: Minoc has reached Thirteen hundred trades thus far
Tanda: and the citizens in town seem to be more visible
Tanda: which are both welcomed
Tanda: My husband and I have both seen a lot of spiders
Tanda: about in the woods, and our ventures to Yew to trade
Tanda: with merchants have been plagued by more
Tanda: attacks than other routes
Tanda: I am unsure what to make of that
Tanda: I am currently hosting and open house Wednesday
Tanda: the 21st 8 cst
Tanda: at the Grotto a celebration of our wedding anniversary
John: *smiles*
Tanda: and a chance to meet with some citizens
Tanda: that is all Your Majesty
Tanda: To you Governor Jamieson
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
Thom Jameison: Thank you Governor Knighthawke
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Ah, sorry
Thom Jameison: Things are peaceful and prosperous in Jhelom.
King Blackthorn: Please continue, Governor Jameison.
Thom Jameison: Trade is brisk and I am glad to say no negative reports to share.
Thom Jameison: That is all I have to share at this time.
King Blackthorn: Thank you
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, has sent a message.
King Blackthorn: *reads from the scroll*
King Blackthorn: *frowns*
King Blackthorn: Magnus Grey will not be giving his normal security briefing.
King Blackthorn: All new business is currently too sensitive to speak about at an open council meeting.
Tanda: *tilts head*
King Blackthorn: *rolls the scroll back up*
King Blackthorn: My thanks to Minister Grey.
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns.
King Blackthorn: Governor Jameison, I am pleased to hear of Jhelom's brisk trade.
King Blackthorn: Your influence as governor has truly improved the town.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, I congratulate Minoc on its robust economy.
King Blackthorn: It is a credit both to your leadership and to the skill of the town's artisans.
Tanda: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Congratulations as well on your upcoming anniversary. *smiles*
John: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: I shall pass your message about spiders along to the Royal guard.
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I am pleased to hear that my capital city continues well.
King Blackthorn: Thank you for warning everyone about the mysterious stealthers.
King Blackthorn: Governor Mortaul, I am glad that all is well in Trinsic.
King Blackthorn: It is good that you have worked out the trade deal issue.
King Blackthorn: Governor Nemesis, I am pleased to hear that civic involvement in Moonglow has increased.
King Blackthorn: And also that citizens are contributing to the town treasury.
King Blackthorn: It will be interesting to hear more about the special projects in months to come.
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, it seems you have the situation in Vesper well in hand.
King Blackthorn: It can be difficult to right the ship of state when a well-known figure leaves public office.
Aornis: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Your calming influence has surely steered the city well.
Aornis: Thank you, sire
King Blackthorn: I wish you luck with the town meeting. *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Governor Willa, I am pleased to hear that Yew is peaceful
King Blackthorn: Ah, the journey in memory of Brialla of the Seven Tears.
King Blackthorn: A time for all to reflect, even those who do not walk the path that day.
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Governors may make a reasonable number of requests per term.
King Blackthorn: I urge governors to consider their requests carefully.
King Blackthorn: It will take two to three weeks after a governor's request is _approved_ for it to be fulfilled.
King Blackthorn: That reflects the standard two weeks it takes for even my kingly requests to be fulfilled,
King Blackthorn: plus a one week buffer in case anything goes wrong.
King Blackthorn: If your event depends on your request being granted and fulfilled,
King Blackthorn: it would be wisest not to schedule that event before you have _approval_ for your request.
King Blackthorn: Also, governor may request an old-style bulletin board for their town.
King Blackthorn: The bulletin boards are usually put up fairly quickly.
King Blackthorn: There have not been any requests this month.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
King Blackthorn: Now citizens may present new issues.
King Blackthorn: Quiet month, it would seem.
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
Tanda: *raise hand*
King Blackthorn: Please go ahead, Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: Nothing pressing, we did get a few requests this evening
Djinn: *grins*
Tanda: for some added padding in the audience to sit upon
Djinn: My poor bottom :(
Tanda: I am merely passing it along
Tanda: thank you
King Blackthorn: *looks at the audience chairs*
King Blackthorn: Hmm, yes, I see, those chairs do have cushions, but they are very old.
King Blackthorn: Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Governor Knighthawke.
Tanda: *nods*
King Blackthorn: I shall ask my secretary to have the cushions replaced before the next meeting.
Tanda: Thank You, Your Grace
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
Djinn: Thank you your majesty!
King Blackthorn: *nods regally to Djinn*
King Blackthorn: I am always pleased to see citizens interested in the governing process.
King Blackthorn: It's only right that we make sure the audience is comfortable,
King Blackthorn: when they have the civic spirit to come to the Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn. Goodnight.
