Post by Lord DaKaren » Wed Jun 18, 2014 6:55 pm

King Blackthorn: Welcome governors and citizens to this month's Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: We have a lengthy agenda for this meeting, so let's get started.
King Blackthorn: If a governor will not be able to attend a meeting of the Council,
King Blackthorn: I ask that he or she send me a pigeon at [elizabella@uoem.net] or [malachi@uoem.net].
King Blackthorn: If you would like to make a request for your town,
King Blackthorn: Send a petition by pigeon to both [elizabella@uoem.net] and [malachi@uoem.net]
King Blackthorn: at least three days before a Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: Then be prepared to discuss your request and answer questions about it at the Council meeting.
King Blackthorn: A primer on the procedures of this council has been written.
King Blackthorn: (You can find it on greatlakes.uoem.net, click on the Royal Council link on the righthand side).
King Blackthorn: I see that Governors Kitty and FlGith are unable to be here tonight.
King Blackthorn: Would anyone like to speak for New Magincia or Trinsic tonight?
King Blackthorn: Very well, we shall go on without them.
King Blackthorn: Now I invite each govenor to give a State of the Town status report,
King Blackthorn: With each governor yielding the floor to the next in line.
King Blackthorn: We will start from Moonglow this meeting. Governor Tyrell, you have the floor.
Walter Tyrell: Thank you your Majesty
Walter Tyrell: the city of Moonglow and her citizens are prospering.
Walter Tyrell: We have been blessed with relative peace and are making the most of it.
Walter Tyrell: There have been no slaver raids or other unfortunate business.
Walter Tyrell: I hope all the other cities in your realm can report the same.
Walter Tyrell: That is all I have at this time.
Walter Tyrell: I yield to Governor Neptune
Neptune: *nods*
Neptune: Thank you
Neptune: I am glad to say with the exporting of our wheat
Neptune: we have been able to build more ship's to help us to patrol the seas
Neptune: I would like to thank the city of Jhelom for making this possible
Thom Jameison: *scowls*
Neptune: with us charging them over three times what we charge others
Neptune: and sending them only our best
Dot Warner: *sighs*
Neptune: *looks over*
Neptune: they have made it possible for us to ensure that the waters around them are secure
Neptune: I yield to the gov’ner of Vesper
Aornis: Thank you, Governor Neptune
Aornis: We in Vesper will be hosting an event this Wednesday at 8pm central
Aornis: The event will be a spirited cook-off
Aornis: All chefs are welcome to come test their talents at the Twisted Oven.
Aornis: I yield to Governor WIlla.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Thank you Governor Aornis.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Yew is still ever watchful, checking all shipments in and out of the city.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: The Monks are happy that the wine is now flowing.....
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Grapes are growing.....
Willa of the Yew-Wood: And things are looking good in that respect.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We are also planning our gathering and calling all Lumberjacks to come and assist us in
Willa of the Yew-Wood: completing the request of lumber
Willa of the Yew-Wood: So we can get guards at the two towers.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: We will be having that event on the 24th.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: So you should see a shipment of lumber soon after that Your Grace.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: *smiles*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: I then Yield to Thom of Jhelom.
Thom Jameison: Thank you Governor Willa .
Thom Jameison: I wish conditions were as positive in Jhelom as the other cities are reporting.
Thom Jameison: Our trade is being restricted by activities of the Skara Brae pirates employed
Thom Jameison: by Governor Neptune
Neptune: *roll's eyes* this again
Thom Jameison: What does get through is outrageously priced to line his pocket6s as he has admitted.
Thom Jameison: We are doing our best to see to the needs of the citizens
Thom Jameison: I ask for your help your Majesty in correcting this gross miscarriage of justice
Thom Jameison: That is all I have to report at this time
Thom Jameison: I yield to Governor Tanda of Minoc
Tanda: Thank you Governor Jameison, Your Majesty
Tanda: The new stone tower in Minoc is still quiet at least on the outside
Tanda: so far the city is doing well, I do hope it remains that way
Tanda: the Governor's City auction went well
Tanda: most cities made at least 4 million Gold
Tanda: the total take was over 90 million
Tanda: So Neptune you have more funds
Tanda: for your city
Tanda: and Minoc should carry on quite nicely
Tanda: That is all I have, I yield to Governor Warner
Thom Jameison: the rich get richer
Dot Warner: Thank you Your Majesty, thank you Governor Knighthawke.
Dot Warner: Britain fares well and her citizens are content. There have been no disturbances or unrest since last we met.
Dot Warner: I plan to hold an event before the next election, though have not settled on exactly what yet.
Dot Warner: Please look to the usual places for an announcement in the nearish future.
Dot Warner: That is all, thank you. *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors for keeping me informed about your towns and cities.
King Blackthorn: Our Minister of Security, Magnus Grey, shall now speak.
Magnus Grey: Majesty. Governors.
King Blackthorn: *nods graciously*
Magnus Grey: Britannian Security Forces have been working to mitigate the Ilshenar situation.
Magnus Grey: The Royal Guard has provided a physical line between the Meer and Juka,
Magnus Grey: And other branches have been working to prevent further escalation.
Magnus Grey: While the situation is tense, I believe we do not have to worry about open war.
Magnus Grey: Such a war would likely draw Britannian in due to our alliances and history.
Magnus Grey: We have looked further into the White Rose killings that preceded this crisis and several others.
Magnus Grey: We have had several experts into such matters look over what has been collected so far.
Tanda: *nods solemnly*
Magnus Grey: No group has taken credit, nor does any evidence collected suggest any known group.
Magnus Grey: The profile of the attacks suggest careful planning and precision by skilled combatant.
Magnus Grey: The murderer has some experience with basic magics, but none of the spells used are esoteric.
Magnus Grey: There is no unnecessary bloodshed, likely indicating a message or ritual involved in the killings.
Magnus Grey: Each of the targets is important, chosen to cause the most social, political, or military fallout.
Magnus Grey: However, none of the targets has particularly high position with the associated guard and protection
Magnus Grey: This would seem to indicate a single individual or a smaller group.
Magnus Grey: I am going to make a conjecture that something about this seems personal.
Magnus Grey: The attacks seem focused at removing our allies. "Divide et impera"
Magnus Grey: We will continue to gather information and deal with this situation.
Magnus Grey: We have an unlikely witness we will be questioning soon.
Magnus Grey: Thank you. Any questions?
Magnus Grey: *nods*
King Blackthorn: Thank you, Minister Grey.
Magnus Grey: Thank you.
King Blackthorn: Now I shall respond to the State of the Towns and the National Security briefing.
King Blackthorn: Governor Jameison, please send me a pigeon, at (elizabella@uoem.net),
King Blackthorn: so I will know how to contact you in future, if necessary.
King Blackthorn: It is my hope that tonight's summit can bring peace to your town.
King Blackthorn: Governor Knighthawke, it is good to hear that things are peaceful in Minoc.
King Blackthorn: Congratulations on the success of the auction. *smiles*!
Tanda: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Governor Warner, I am pleased that my capital city continues well.
Dot Warner: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Governor Tyrell, I am pleased to hear that the city of Honesty is prospering.
King Blackthorn: Governor Neptune, please remember that your town may have a time of need someday.
King Blackthorn: An alliance with a nearby town can be invaluable.
Neptune: ohh we did and was left waiting
King Blackthorn: Then it seems especially important to forge strong bonds,
King Blackthorn: in case it should happen again.
King Blackthorn: Governor Aornis, that sounds like a fun event.
King Blackthorn: I wish good luck to all the chefs. *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Govenor Willa, I commend Yew on its vigilance.
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Seems I'll need to pick another date for our gathering as there is a conflict of events on the 24th. But I'll get back to you on when it will be.
King Blackthorn: *nods*
Willa of the Yew-Wood: Not to fear we will get the wood gathered.
King Blackthorn: It is good to hear that the vineyards are flourishing,
King Blackthorn: as they bring so much joy to Britannia.
King Blackthorn: I look forward to the shipment of lumber,
King Blackthorn: so that the guards from the Library of Scars can take up their posts.
King Blackthorn: Now we turn to requests from governors.
King Blackthorn: A governor may only place one request per term.
King Blackthorn: I urge governors to consider their requests carefully.
King Blackthorn: There were no requests this month.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall open the floor to new issues.
King Blackthorn: Governors may present any new issues first.
King Blackthorn: Now citizens may present new issues.
King Blackthorn: I believe Malag aste, a representative from the High Council, wishes to speak.
Malag aste: Your Grace if I may...
Malag aste: Aye.
King Blackthorn: *smiles and nods*
Malag aste: I would like to present Lord Magus Grey with the Gauntlet of Dupre.
Magnus Grey: *smiles and nods*
Malag aste: Given to combatants and non-combatants alike who have served the realm outstandingly during times of war.
Malag aste: He has certainly served this Kingdom well.

Malag aste: *hands Magnus an engraved Chest*
Magnus Grey: *accepts the chest in both hands and bows his head*
Magnus Grey: I am humbled and honored by this award.
Malag aste: *containing the order's badge is a gauntlet sustaining a sword over a blue background. *
Malag aste: It is well deserved Magnus.
Malag aste: And I am truly honored to have served with you.
Magnus Grey: It doesn't belong to me alone, but for all who work tirelessly for our security each & every week.
Malag aste: *shakes Magnus’ hand*
Magnus Grey: *holds out hand to shake*
Malag aste: Indeed

Magnus Grey: For as long as I have the strength.
King Blackthorn: Congratulations to Minister Grey on his well-deserved award.
Malag aste: Indeed. The High Council and the Citizens of this Kingdom are ever grateful to you Magnus Grey.
King Blackthorn: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: Are there any other new issues to be addressed this evening?
Malag aste: *smiles*
King Blackthorn: If there are no further issues, we shall adjourn.
King Blackthorn: Thank you to all the governors present for a very productive Council meeting.
Thom Jameison: *nods*
King Blackthorn: My thanks as well to all the citizens who had the civic spirit to attend.
King Blackthorn: Now we shall adjourn.
