Since many in the GLRPC are now using the Enhanced Client, or are attempting to, those of us who have been using it for a long time would like to help the new adopters to get the most of the client. To this end, there will be an in-game EC class (with moderated instruction in Ventrilo) on Friday, August 10th at 8pm CDT. Meet in-game at the Library of Sosaria/Nameless Rune banner (directly south of the Yew moongate in Trammel, 70o 14'N, 40o 17'W).
To effectively participate in this class, you will need to have previously installed the EC as well as Pinco's UI (installing/patching this UI may take several hours and should be accomplished several days in advance)
Class attendance is growing quickly, with around 25 participants (plays both in and out of the RP community) planning to attend. If you cannot make it, we are likely to repeate the class again before moving on to more advanced topics. (Vent will most likely be recorded for those who cannot attend.)
If you have not installed the EC yet, do so HERE.
To download Pinco's UI installer, go HERE
(DO NOT HAVE THE EC RUNNING!) After you have downloaded the Pinco's Installerzip file, you need to open the zip and copy all the files contained therein to the TOP LEVEL of your UOSA directory. This directory can usually be found at C:\Program Files\EA Games\Ultima Online Stygian Abyss\ OR C:\Program Files\EA Games\Ultima Online Enhanced\ (unless you changed the directory, at which point you should already know what you're doing.
(DO NOT HAVE THE EC RUNNING!) Once you have copied the files, you need to run the UI Patcher.exe files as Administrator. This will install the actual UI and its associated files. This may take several hours. (The data is being pulled from a low-bandwidth server in Italy)
Once the UI patcher has completed, you may launch the EC.
Note: To use Vent and the EC at the same time, Vent MUST be run as Administator. To set them to run this way all the time, right click their icons, chose Properties, click the 'Advanced' button and then click the box next to 'Run as administrator.'
You are now ready for the class!
For those who wish to jump ahead, or who cannot attend the class, there are many UI Guides written by Pinco. There is also a YouTube video of what the EC's User Options do.
Again, if you have any pre-class questions make sure you ask them early!
